Releasing 27 rare wild animals into Phong Nha - Ke Bang forest

Phong Nha - Ke Bang Wildlife Rescue, Conservation and Development Center (Quang Tri province) has released many rare wild animals into the wild, many of which are listed as endangered.

On September 25, the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Living Creatures (Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board) released 27 wild animals back into the natural environment after completing rescue and quarantine.

Among them, there are 8 pig-tailed macaques, 2 hornbills, 1 brown hawk, 1 python, 9 cardamom tortoises, 3 miniature lorises, 1 palm civet, 1 palm civet and 1 wild cat along with many species listed as endangered and rare according to Decree 84/2021/ND-CP and CITES Convention.

These animals were voluntarily handed over by local people, and were then cared for and rehabilitated by the center before being released back into the forest. The center is currently rescuing 60 wild animals; since the beginning of 2025, it has received 20 animals and successfully released 27, with a rescue rate of 95%.

This action not only contributes to preserving the ecosystem of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park but also spreads community awareness in protecting nature.
