More than 2 million shrimp and crab fry of various kinds have been released into Dong Ho lagoon by the government and people of Ha Tien city ( Kien Giang ) to contribute to the regeneration of aquatic resources in the natural environment.

On the morning of February 12, the People's Committee of Ha Tien City, Kien Giang Province organized a ceremony to release shrimp and crab seeds of all kinds into Dong Ho lagoon to... mobilize all people inside and outside the city to join hands to preserve and develop aquatic resources and protect the natural ecological environment.
Mr. Tran Hai Quoc - Vice Chairman of Ha Tien City People's Committee - said that in recent times, the seafood exploitation and aquaculture profession has brought great economic value to fishing households in the city.
However, overexploitation and the use of illegal fishing tools such as electric shock, small mesh nets, fishing with nets combined with high-power lights, and the use of prohibited occupations such as bottom trawling and dredging, etc. have depleted aquatic resources in rivers and seas.

"The quantity of aquatic products in Ha Tien is not as abundant as before. The marine environment and aquatic resources will be restored and developed if there are appropriate protection solutions and people exploit them reasonably," Mr. Quoc added.
Today, the government and people of Ha Tien City released more than 2 million shrimp, crabs and fish of all kinds into the natural environment of Dong Ho lagoon. Of these, 1 million shrimp and crab seeds were donated by organizations and individuals.
Through this activity, the locality hopes to regenerate aquatic resources and protect the natural ecological environment. At the same time, it is also part of a series of activities on the occasion of the festival celebrating the 289th anniversary of the founding of Tao Dan Chieu Anh Cac (1736-2025).
