On the morning of June 30, together with the whole country, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Nguyen province solemnly held a ceremony to announce the resolutions and decisions of the Central and local governments on merging provincial and commune-level administrative units; ending the operation of district-level administrative units, establishing party organizations, and appointing Party Committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of the province, communes, and wards.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nong Duc Manh, former General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam ; Nguyen Chi Dung, member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Central Working Delegation; Thai Thanh Quy, member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Central Committee's Policy and Strategy Committee; Hoang Duy Chinh, member of the Central Committee of the Party, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Bac Kan province; Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee; representatives of central departments, ministries and branches; leaders and former leaders of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces in different periods.
At the ceremony, comrade Do Ngoc Huynh, Deputy Head of the Government Office, announced the resolutions and decisions of the Central Committee: Resolution No. 202/2025/QH15 dated June 12, 2025 of the National Assembly on the establishment of Thai Nguyen province (new) on the basis of merging Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces; Resolution of the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee on ending district-level activities, establishing communes and wards; Decision to establish Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee on the basis of merging Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan Party Committees; Decision to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Appointment of the Inspection Committee (UBKT), Chairman, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Appointment of the Chairman, Vice Chairman of the People's Council, heads of committees of the Provincial People's Council; Leaders of the National Assembly Delegation of Thai Nguyen province; Decision to appoint the Chairman, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Decision to establish the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Nguyen province.
According to Decision No. 2160-QDNS/TW, dated June 23, 2025, the Politburo appointed 64 comrades to participate in the Executive Committee of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; appointed the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee consisting of 15 comrades.
Also according to this Decision, comrade Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee (old), was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee (new), term 2020-2025.
- Comrade Nguyen Dang Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province (old), holds the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (to be appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province (new), term 2021-2026).
- Comrade Pham Hoang Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province (old), holds the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (to be appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province (new), term 2021-2026).
- Comrade Dinh Quang Tuyen, Deputy Secretary of Bac Kan Provincial Party Committee (old), holds the position of Deputy Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee (new).
According to Decision No. 2195, dated June 24, 2025, the Secretariat appointed 12 comrades to join the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission. Comrade Bui Van Luong, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission (old), holds the position of Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission (new), term 2020-2025.
According to the Central Committee's decisions: Comrade Nguyen Dang Binh was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province (new), term 2021-2026.
Comrade Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee (new) for the 2020-2025 term, holds the position of Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee (new) for the 2021-2026 term according to Decision No. 1255 of the Prime Minister.
Comrade Dinh Quang Tuyen, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Nguyen province .
The Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee also appointed 13 comrades to join the National Assembly Delegation of Thai Nguyen province.
Next, comrade Nguyen Dang Binh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, announced the resolutions and decisions of the province on ending the activities of the Party Committees of Party agencies, the Party Committees of the People's Committees, the Military Party Committees, the Party Committees of the Public Security of the two provinces of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan; the decision to end the activities of the district-level Party Committees; the decision to establish (92) new Party Committees of communes and wards in Thai Nguyen province; the decisions to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretary; Chairman, Deputy Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the new commune and ward Party Committees; the resolutions to appoint the positions of Chairman, Vice Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the People's Council's committees; Chairman, Vice Chairman of the new communes and wards and the decision to establish the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the new communes and wards.
Immediately after the resolutions and decisions were announced, comrade Nguyen Chi Dung handed over the resolutions and decisions of the Central Committee to the leaders of Thai Nguyen province (new) and comrades assigned to hold positions according to the resolutions and decisions of the Central Committee.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Chi Dung highly appreciated the proactiveness and positivity of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces in implementing the Central Government's policy on the arrangement of provincial and communal administrative units and building a 2-level local government organization model; being one of the leading units in the country to promptly complete and submit the merger and consolidation project; completing the construction and submission of key leadership personnel plans. The implementation process was carried out seriously, methodically, closely, achieving very high consensus and unity.
Entering a new stage of development, facing many opportunities and challenges, he suggested that Thai Nguyen should continue to promote its heroic tradition, innovate its thinking, and exploit the province's potential and advantages to the fullest; cadres and leaders should promote their spirit and responsibility, affirm their intelligence and spirit of dedication, solidarity, impartiality, dynamism, proactively adapt to new requirements, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility for the common good; quickly catch up with the work.
He requested that, as early as tomorrow (July 1, 2025), all work under the authority of the two levels (province and commune) must be carried out smoothly, without delay or omission; closely following the Central's directive documents and local practices to proactively develop timely and specific action programs and plans; continuing to complete the drafting of documents and well prepare conditions for organizing the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term; Socio-economic development plan, medium-term public investment plan; financial and budget plan for the 2026-2030 period...
The Deputy Prime Minister believes that, with high political determination, drastic action thinking and consensus of the entire political system, the new Thai Nguyen province will continue to maximize its potential and advantages, steadily rise to become a leading locality in the Northern region, a model of green economy, eco-tourism, industrial center, high-tech agriculture, modern services and smart urban areas, actively contributing to the rapid, comprehensive and sustainable development of the region and the whole country.
On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, agencies in the political system and people of the whole province, Comrade Trinh Viet Hung, Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, emphasized: This is an event of special significance, marking a historical turning point in the development process of the province; demonstrating the deep concern, trust and great expectations of the Central Party Committee, the National Assembly, the Government and the Central ministries, branches and sectors for the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Thai Nguyen province. From July 1, 2025, the political system and 2-level local government of Thai Nguyen province (new) will officially come into operation, this is not only the beginning of a new organizational model, but also the continuation of a more innovative, more proactive, more creative, more united and stronger spirit to quickly adapt to development requirements.
He affirmed: In this special milestone, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Thai Nguyen province are more deeply aware of their responsibilities. We are determined to promote the revolutionary tradition, solidarity spirit, continue to innovate thinking, leadership methods, direction and organization to make Thai Nguyen province develop rapidly and sustainably, becoming the growth pole of the Northern Midlands and Mountains and the Capital region.

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates respectfully lit incense sticks to express their respect and infinite gratitude to the 60 martyrs of the Youth Volunteers of Company 915 who heroically sacrificed themselves on the night of December 24, 1972. They sacrificed their lives, but their images and achievements still live on, echoing forever in the hearts of the people of the whole country.
