Dak Lak: Using drones to rescue people swept away by flood

At noon on November 21, Ea O Commune Police, Dak Lak Province, said they had just saved the life of a person swept away by floodwaters using a drone.

Previously, on the afternoon of November 20, Mr. PVT (born in 1979) and HVA (born in 1980, both residing in Thanh Son village, Vu Bon commune, Dak Lak province) used a boat to go fishing on the Krong Pak river in Ea O commune.

Due to heavy rain and strong river currents, the boat capsized and both people were swept away. By 10pm the same day, the family had not been able to contact the victims and so they notified the authorities.

Upon receiving the news, Ea O Commune Police coordinated with local people to organize a search. On the morning of November 21, the authorities discovered Mr. T. clinging to a tree trunk near Bridge C7, Ea O Commune. At this time, the police mobilized a local drone to rescue and bring the victim to shore. Mr. T. was taken to the Medical Station for monitoring and health care. Mr. A. is still missing, and local authorities are organizing a search.
