Construction of the Cam Lam highway rest stop will begin in May.

The Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway rest stop in Ninh Thuan province is facing difficulties in land clearance, and is expected to be operational only in August 2026.

On March 5th, the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Expressway Management Board (under Project Management Board 85) announced that the investor for the rest stop at Km90+900 in Nhon Son commune (Ninh Son district, Ninh Thuan province) has selected a contractor and will begin construction as soon as the land is handed over, with groundbreaking expected in May 2025.

Currently, the project company has selected the design consultant and construction contractor for the project and is organizing the next steps.

Mr. Bui Lai, Director of the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Expressway Management Board, said that the Board has repeatedly worked with the local authorities on land clearance. In March 2024, the Board handed over the land clearance documents and boundaries on the ground to the Ninh Son District People's Committee to carry out compensation and resettlement work.

However, to date, 5 out of 10 households owning 6.55 hectares out of the 7.4 hectares of additional land to be cleared have still not agreed to hand over the land.

On the other hand, the areas where residents have agreed to hand over the land are not contiguous, which means the contractor has not yet been able to start construction.

In early February 2025, the Land Development Center of Ninh Son district (Ninh Thuan province) posted the compensation and resettlement support plan.

After the announced posting period ends, the local authorities will hold a meeting with residents to gather their opinions on the compensation, support, and resettlement plan.

For cases where individuals agree with the compensation and resettlement plan, the local authorities will finalize the compensation plan, disburse the compensation money, and proceed with land acquisition.

According to the plan, the investor is expected to start construction in May 2025 and complete the project in August 2026.

While waiting for the rest stop to be put into operation, there are two temporary rest stops at Km 113 (intersection with Provincial Road 709, Thuan Nam District) that are currently in operation, so drivers and road users can stop and rest at these two stops.

According to the plan, the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway rest stop will be located at Km 90+900, Nhon Son commune (Ninh Son district, Ninh Thuan province), covering an area of ​​approximately 10 hectares (5 hectares on each side of the road).

The construction includes free public services such as parking lots, restrooms, rest areas, temporary rest rooms for drivers, and first aid for traffic accidents. In addition, the rest stop also includes commercial facilities such as restaurants, gas stations, and repair service stations.
