Workers' Month 2025: Practical care for union members and workers

This year, the organization of Workers' Month - Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is associated with the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification on April 30 (1975-2025), the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day on May 1 (1886-2025) and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday on May 19 (1890-2025). On this occasion, the Provincial Federation of Labor has developed and implemented an organization plan with the theme "Vietnamese workers pioneering the new era" and "Strengthening assessment, identifying risks and proactively implementing measures to ensure OSH at the workplace".

In addition, many practical and meaningful activities were also organized to continue affirming that the working class is the pioneering force in the cause of national innovation, creative labor, confidently entering a new era - the era of national development. The implementation of this plan contributes to raising the awareness and responsibility of the whole society in caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests, improving the living and working conditions of workers, honoring and promoting the role of workers in the new development stage of the country...

The goal is to have 60% or more of grassroots trade unions in all types of enterprises, 50% or more of grassroots trade unions in administrative agencies and public service units have at least 1 appropriate and practical activity in response to Workers' Month - Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health in 2025. Accordingly, trade unions at all levels in the province focus on implementing a number of activities well such as: Program "Creative workers, confidently entering the new era".

Promote the emulation movement of "Good workers, creative workers", "Green-clean-beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and health"; encourage union members and workers to innovate, have many initiatives, improve techniques, contributing to increasing labor productivity and work efficiency. Actively propagate, mobilize, support union members and workers to research topics and initiatives in various fields to participate in the 11th Quang Tri Province Innovation and Technology Competition.

Launching emulation movements on occupational safety and health; innovating the content and methods of implementing the movement "Green - Clean - Beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and health". Organizing to honor outstanding union members and employees with many initiatives, creativity, and high achievements in labor and production, associated with praising typical advanced workers, civil servants, and laborers in the period of 2020-2025.

For the program “Dialogue in May” and the forum “Party with Workers - Workers with the Party”, trade unions at all levels advise, propose, and coordinate to organize for leaders of Party committees, authorities at the same level and employers to contact and dialogue with union members and workers in accordance with actual conditions. Advise Party committees at the same level to organize the forum “Party with Workers - Workers with the Party” before the Party congress at the same level to listen to and solve workers' problems; absorb and implement the Party's instructions.

Implement the program "Thank you to workers" and activities to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers through guiding grassroots unions to negotiate and sign collective labor agreements.

Coordinate the organization of consulting, training and coaching activities on occupational safety and health for employers and employees; recommend employers to pay attention to improving working conditions, building a safe, "green - clean - beautiful", friendly working environment; raise awareness of compliance with regulations, procedures and measures to ensure occupational safety and health at the workplace.

Coordinate the inspection and examination of compliance with the provisions of the law on occupational safety and health. Propose and coordinate with employers to organize activities to visit and give gifts to union members and employees in difficult circumstances, those who have had work-related accidents or occupational diseases; organize cultural and sports exchange activities, sightseeing, tourism and vacations for union members and employees.

The trade unions at the grassroots level directly above the grassroots level shall review and grasp the situation of enterprises and workers in the localities and units under their management to focus on propaganda and mobilization to develop union members and establish grassroots trade unions; pay attention to developing union members in enterprises that already have trade unions but many workers have not joined the union; and workers in the informal sector. Strive for each trade union at the grassroots level directly above the grassroots level to mobilize the establishment of at least 1 grassroots trade union or 1 grassroots trade union.

Grassroots trade unions select and introduce outstanding union members for the Party Committee to train and consider admitting them to the Party, and pay attention to union members and workers directly involved in production. Promote propaganda work, focusing on activities at grassroots trade unions, which are widely responded to by cadres, union members and workers; about the glorious tradition of the working class, the Vietnam Trade Union and the immortal spirit of International Labor Day. Propaganda and raise awareness among union members and workers about party congresses at all levels; opportunities and challenges in the current period; the new era - the era of national development. Thoroughly grasp the Trade Union Law, the Social Insurance Law in 2024...

In addition to the planned activities, the Provincial Federation of Labor will focus on directing trade unions at all levels to advise Party committees at the same level to organize forums between the Party and workers - workers and the Party before the Party congresses at all levels. Organize training courses on dialogue and collective bargaining skills for trade union officials.

Directing grassroots trade unions to organize dialogues with workers at units and enterprises about the regimes and policies that workers are interested in and propose. Guiding grassroots trade unions of enterprises (with shift meals) to organize the program "Union Meal"; inaugurating public housing for teachers in disadvantaged areas in Dakrong district; starting construction and handing over 25 Union Shelters worth more than 1 billion VND to union members in difficult circumstances in the province.
