Thanh Hoa welcomed nearly 1.2 million tourists during the April 30 and May 1 holidays.

According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province, during the 5-day holiday, from April 29 to May 3, the whole province is estimated to welcome nearly 1.2 million visitors, an increase of 33.1% compared to this holiday in 2022; total revenue from tourism reached nearly 3 trillion VND. With this number of visitors, Thanh Hoa has become one of the localities with the largest number of visitors in the country.

Every day there are tens of thousands of visitors to Sam Son beach.

The province's tourist areas and spots all had a large number of visitors, notably: Sam Son City welcomed 850 thousand visitors; Nghi Son Town welcomed nearly 80 thousand visitors; Hai Tien Marine Ecotourism Area (Hoang Hoa) welcomed 77 thousand visitors; Thanh Hoa City welcomed nearly 40 thousand visitors; Cam Luong Fish Stream (Cam Thuy) 18.3 thousand visitors; Ho Dynasty Citadel (Vinh Loc) 11.2 thousand visitors; Lam Kinh Special National Relic Site (Tho Xuan) 8.6 thousand visitors; Pu Luong Community Ecotourism Area (Ba Thuoc) 6.5 thousand visitors; Ben En National Park (Nhu Thanh) 3 thousand visitors; Ban Ma Community Tourism Area (Thuong Xuan) 3.2 thousand visitors... Of which, the number of guests staying was about 690 thousand; the room occupancy rate was about 81.5%.

During the April 30 and May 1 holidays this year, along with beach resorts, the trend of experiential tourism, camping, exploring natural landscapes, and heading towards green spaces is chosen by many tourists.

Right before the holiday, 3-5 star hotels and resorts in some key tourist destinations such as: Sam Son Beach Resort (Sam Son City); Hai Tien Beach Eco-Tourism Area; Pu Luong Community Eco-Tourism Area... have reached 100% room occupancy.

In particular, the operation of the North-South expressway from Mai Son to National Highway 45 has shortened the travel time from Hanoi to Thanh Hoa to only 2 hours. From the intersections of the route, tourists can easily travel to famous tourist destinations in Thanh Hoa within a radius of about 25-30km.
