At the meeting, the Steering Committee set a resolution to basically complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide by October 31.

Since its launch, the country has eliminated nearly 209,000 houses (of which 111,000 houses were inaugurated and handed over; 98,000 houses were started), reaching about 77% of the total demand.

With the efforts of those receiving support, the voluntary and selfless help of the community, neighbors, relatives, unions, local leaders, and ministries actively participating, many houses were built with a value much higher than the budget supported by the State.

However, according to the Prime Minister , the task from now until October 31 is still very heavy (there are still about 61,800 temporary and dilapidated houses) because it involves many ministries, agencies, and localities, and the scope of implementation is wide, while the remaining time is not much (about 170 days). On average, 364 houses must be completed each day nationwide; on average, each locality must complete 8 houses/day.

Therefore, the Prime Minister requested all levels, sectors and localities to make greater efforts, greater determination, and more drastic, effective and focused actions to successfully implement the program's goals.

Previously, on May 10, the Prime Minister signed a decision to promulgate the 2025 work program of the Steering Committee with the determination to basically complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide by October 31, including 3 programs: housing support for people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives; housing support according to national target programs; eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households. In particular, priority is given to organizing and implementing housing support for people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives.
