Thanh Hoa promotes investment, trade and tourism in Beijing

Up to now, the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China have developed extensively in all fields, becoming a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. Along with that, the two sides still have many opportunities and much room to continue to develop the cooperative relationship to new heights in the fields of investment, trade and tourism in the coming time.

On September 19, in Beijing (China), the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Vietnamese Embassy in China and the China Machinery and Electronic Products Import and Export Association to organize a conference to promote investment, trade and tourism in Thanh Hoa province.

Up to now, the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China have developed extensively in all fields, becoming a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. In particular, the import and export structure of the two countries has also been constantly supplemented, improved, mutually supported and connected in regional and global production and supply chains. China's investment in Vietnam has also increased continuously in both quantity and quality. In particular, many large Chinese enterprises and corporations have chosen Thanh Hoa province to invest and have been very successful.

He also gave an overview of Thanh Hoa's potential and strengths, important policies of the Central Government for the province's development and priority areas for attracting investment, and preferential investment policies of Thanh Hoa.

He emphasized that among 173 foreign direct investment projects in Thanh Hoa, there are currently 72 projects with investment capital from Chinese investors, with a total registered capital of about 1.2 billion USD, ranking third after Japan and South Korea, focusing mainly on the garment and footwear sectors. Many Chinese enterprises have been successful in Thanh Hoa province and have made positive contributions to the local budget, as well as social security activities, creating jobs for workers.

The number and scale of investment projects of Chinese enterprises in Thanh Hoa are still small; import and export activities from Thanh Hoa to China in the first 8 months of 2024 only accounted for over 7.1% of the total export turnover of the whole province; the number of Chinese tourists coming to Thanh Hoa province is still limited. Therefore, the two sides still have many opportunities and room to continue developing cooperative relations in all 3 fields of investment, trade and tourism".
