A nearly 1.8m tall young man died while swimming in the 1.2m deep water area of a swimming pool.

On the afternoon of June 19, a leader of Thanh Nhan Ward People's Committee (Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi ) said that according to Thanh Nhan Hospital's report, the victim died outside the hospital.

This leader informed that, through verification and investigation, the authorities clarified the cause of the incident and the identity of the victim, Mr. NHL (23 years old, residing in Pho Hue ward, Hai Ba Trung district).

"The victim was 1.78m tall, but the area where the accident happened was only 1.2m deep. Before discovering the incident, the pool staff saw the victim lying face down on the bottom and thought he was diving. After that, when they saw no movement, everyone jumped in to bring the victim to shore to give first aid," said the leader.

According to the ward People's Committee leader, the initial investigation results show that the victim did not suffer any impact or trauma. The authorities are currently examining and taking other samples for testing to make a final conclusion. The ward is also requesting that the swimming pool temporarily cease operations.

Previously, on the afternoon of June 17, Mr. NHL went to the swimming pool in Tuoi Tre park to swim and died, suspected of drowning.
