Phu Binh: Body of suspected drowning victim found

At around 9am on June 23, local people and authorities of Phu Binh district found the body of Mr. NVT (born in 1973, residing in Chua hamlet, Ha Chau commune) - who had been reported missing 2 days earlier. The body was discovered on the Cau river flowing through Chua hamlet, not far from the suspected accident site.

Previously, at around 2:00 p.m. on June 21, upon receiving a report from the local people, Ha Chau commune sent forces to verify and search for the victim. Through verification, the authorities discovered a black Honda Wave motorbike with license plate 98M7-79… parked on the river bank. Not far away was a cement boat.

According to local residents, at around 5:20 a.m. on June 21, they saw Mr. T. riding a motorbike to Soi Ap beach to fish. At around 11 a.m. the same day, when he did not return, the residents informed his family and the local authorities.

At that time, due to prolonged heavy rain, the water level of Cau River rose, the current was strong, causing many difficulties for the search and rescue work of the authorities.

Currently, rivers and streams in the area are in a state of rising water, posing many potential safety risks. Authorities advise people not to go fishing in rivers and streams or participate in activities near dangerous areas to avoid unfortunate accidents.
