Lao Cai Youth promote the "5 Pioneers" movement

From the "5 pioneers" movement, especially pioneers in economic development and creative startups, in recent times, Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union has supported the establishment and effective maintenance of many youth economic development models, such as cooperatives, cooperatives and youth-owned enterprises... Thereby, creating a strong driving force for the young generation to affirm their pioneering role in economic development, contributing to building an increasingly prosperous homeland.

With a sharp mind, in 2021, 7 youth union members of Bac Ha commune established Quang Tom Cooperative, with Ms. Sai Thi Bich Hue as Director, with dried Tam Hoa plum products, ancient Shan Tuyet tea and Tam Hoa plum fermented wine. To promote the role of linkage, the Cooperative has purchased products from local people, bringing local agricultural products to many new consumer markets, in order to increase income and stabilize the lives of cooperative members and people.

Ms. Sai Thi Bich Hue, Director of the cooperative, said: "We are always ready to learn and change. Currently, the cooperative has applied freeze-drying technology and modern processing procedures, improving quality and design for display and introduction to customers. Therefore, each month the cooperative sells tens of thousands of products to the market, creating stable jobs for nearly 10 local workers with an income of about 6 million VND/month." Quang Tom Cooperative has been making a significant contribution to the sustainable development of the local socio-economy, while clearly demonstrating the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity of young people in the agricultural sector.

With the dynamism and creativity of youth, in 2018, after careful research, 7 youth union members of Lang Cau village, Mau A commune established Huynh Phat Agricultural Service Cooperative, with Mr. Nguyen Van Huynh as director, with the main business line being mechanical processing and metal coating, the main products are hot and cold stoves, boilers, essential oil distillers, non-motorized rice transplanters...

Up to now, Huynh Phat Cooperative has built 2 production factories, 18 agents in provinces and cities in the Northeast and Northwest regions, with popular products in most communes and districts in the province and many localities in the provinces: Phu Tho, Son La, Lai Chau, Tuyen Quang, Quang Ninh... The cooperative's revenue has reached from 3 billion VND in 2018 to nearly 9 billion VND in 2024; creating regular jobs for over 20 workers with an income of 7-10 million VND/person/month.

In particular, in 2024, Huynh Phat Agricultural Service Cooperative was recognized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association as one of the top 100 outstanding young entrepreneurs nationwide. In 2025, Huynh Phat Agricultural Service Cooperative was honored with the "Cooperative Star Award 2025" certificate of merit from the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huynh said: “I understand the needs of the people to make mechanical products to meet the needs of the market. That is why Huynh Phat kitchen has a place in life. Not only improving the economic efficiency of the cooperative, I am also always ready to help young people in the locality to start a business together.”

Accompanying the youth union members, in recent times, the provincial youth union chapters have had many solutions to help and support the youth in economic development. In particular, focusing on propaganda and mobilizing youth union members to participate in start-up models; supporting youth in developing family economy; transferring scientific and technical advances, transforming crop and livestock structure; helping youth access loan sources, applying science and technology, building economic development linkage models... Supporting financial resources and technology transfer, through the preferential credit program entrusted with the Bank for Social Policies. To date, the total outstanding loan balance for youth has reached more than 2,494 billion VND, supporting 35,184 households to borrow capital to develop production and business.

Thanks to that, the youth start-up movement in Lao Cai has been changing strongly, gradually forming a class of young, dynamic, creative entrepreneurs who master technology, actively contributing to the local economic development. Up to now, the whole province has established and effectively maintained more than 1,000 youth economic models; maintained and newly built many collective economic models of cooperatives, cooperative groups, and economic development clubs among the Youth Union. In the first 9 months of 2025, the Youth Union at all levels in the province has built 7 youth start-up models, established 13 cooperative groups, 4 cooperatives...

Comrade Ha Duc Hai - Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union said: “Lao Cai Youth Union has carried out many specific and important tasks. In particular, in early 2025, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee organized a conference to study and disseminate Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, in the form of direct and online communication to all youth organizations in the province. To realize the goal of developing Lao Cai "green, harmonious, unique and happy" as set out by the Provincial Party Congress, in the coming time, Lao Cai youth will focus on 6 major tasks associated with the "5 pioneers" movement and the Program "Comprehensive development of Lao Cai youth".

In particular, the youth movement for creative startups in the period of 2025 - 2030 is promoted, with a focus on supporting collective economic models and young businesses in the fields of ecotourism, community tourism, organic agriculture, and technology services. Young people are equipped with knowledge of management, digital skills, and opportunities to connect with investors to realize their ideas. With that spirit, the young generation of Lao Cai is entering a new era with a commitment to specific actions: Pioneering in learning, starting a business, training, volunteering, and integration; worthy of being the core force contributing to building an increasingly developed, civilized, and modern homeland.
