Specifically, on the evening of May 5, Le Van Ty went to Thuy Xuan Ward Police (Hue City) to report that two young men used a knife to control and rob him of his Wave motorbike with license plate number 75G1-427.47; an iPhone XS, and a wallet containing 1 million VND.

Thuy Xuan Ward Police and Hue City Police Criminal Police Team urgently organized to verify the incident.

By the afternoon of May 6, Hue City Police clarified that Le Van Ty's report was false, and that there was no robbery. After verification, the police determined that Le Van Ty's motorbike with license plate 75G1-427.47 was pawned at a pawn shop in Hue City for 10 million VND.

The purpose of the subject reporting to the police was to inform the family that he had been robbed in order to take the money for personal use.

Hue City Police determined that Le Van Ty's false declaration caused public confusion, anger among the people, and wasted the efforts and time of the authorities, so they consolidated the case file for handling.
