The camp organizers held a handover ceremony of "Comradeship" houses for reserve soldiers with special housing difficulties.
The 2023 camp is hosted by the Provincial Military Command in coordination with provincial departments, branches, sectors and organizations with the theme "Youth and women of the Military Region's armed forces act for the community" associated with activities to celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2023), the 71st anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Army Youth and the Army Youth Committee (February 8, 1952 - February 8, 2023); the 30th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Army Women and the Army Women's Committee (March 10, 1993 - March 10, 2023).
The camp was held at the 895th Infantry Regiment, Provincial Military Command in Binh Xuan Hamlet, Chau Binh Commune, Giong Trom District. The main activities took place on March 23 and 24, 2023, attracting nearly 500 officers, soldiers, union members, and youth from 20 camps from the Military Commands of the provinces under Military Region 9 and participating units. The main activities of the camp included: organizing an incense offering ceremony at the Nguyen Thi Dinh Memorial Site; a " Tour Guide" contest, a beautiful tent contest, and social security activities.
Along with the exchange activities, the Organizing Committee of the camp also donated 6 houses of "Comrades", "Comradeship", "Comradeship", "Sympathy", each worth 60 million VND to officers, professional soldiers, cadres, union members, association members, retired cadres, demobilized cadres, and reserve cadres with difficult housing circumstances. The Military Region and the Army Youth Union supported the construction of 2 houses from the "100 Dong House" program with a total amount of 160 million VND for 2 Youth Union cadres with difficult housing circumstances. The Army Women's Union supported 1 house of "Sympathy for members" with a total amount of 80 million VND; Organized visits and presented 195 gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers, People's Armed Forces Heroes, policy families, families in difficult circumstances, families of victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, poor students who overcame difficulties, and children orphaned by the Covid-19 pandemic with a total amount of 195 million VND. Supported the construction of 1 activity and entertainment area for children with a total amount of 80 million VND and 1 rural traffic project with a total amount of 100 million VND.
On this occasion, Military Hospital 120, Logistics Department of Military Region 9, Giong Trom District Medical Center, and Provincial Military Command's Infirmary provided free medical examinations, medicine, and health consultations to 400 people with a total amount of 60 million VND.
In recent years, the youth and women's movement of the Military Region 9 has achieved many outstanding results. Cadres, union members, youth and women have always promoted their pioneering and creative roles in implementing emulation movements. Thereby, many typical advanced examples have emerged, many good models have been widely deployed. At this camp, the Military Region 9 Command honored 25 Youth Union cadres, 25 grassroots Women's Union cadres of the Military Region and local armed forces for their outstanding contributions to the work of the Youth Union, Association and local military and defense work in 2022.
Colonel Le Van Hung - Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, Head of the Camp Organizing Committee said: The camp was organized according to plan, ensuring quality and safety. Compared to previous years, this year's camp has many outstanding points. In particular, in addition to the contributions of agencies and units, the Organizing Committee has mobilized support from businesses to contribute to the general operating budget of the camp, contributing to increasing the effectiveness of implementing social security projects, helping many people in difficulty with a total implementation cost of nearly 1.5 billion VND.
After 2 days of organization, the camp activities have ended with the full affection that the people of Dong Khoi hometown have for the youth and women of Military Region 9. This will be a motivation to encourage and cheer the spirit of the union members, youth and women of Military Region 9, as well as women's associations at all levels to overcome all difficulties, be proactive, and volunteer to successfully carry out all assigned tasks. From there, it contributes to further enhancing the solidarity between the army and the people, expressing the gratitude of today's young generation towards the nation, homeland, and country. |
