Ana Mandara Resort, operating since 1997, has a prime location in Nha Trang City, covering an area of over 26,000 square meters and stretching nearly 400 meters along the east coast of Tran Phu Street.
In June 2022, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province issued a document requesting Sovico Khanh Hoa Company Limited (the project investor) to stop accommodation activities at this resort, and at the same time dismantle the constructions here to return the open space of the beach to serve the people and tourists. According to the reporter's records, up to now, the investor has basically completed the dismantling of the items, people and tourists can freely enter and exit.
Ana Mandara Resort before 2023 with constructions blocking Nha Trang beach frontage
In early 2023, after the relocation plan was announced, the investor proceeded to dismantle items at this resort.
After being dismantled, the fence in front of Tran Phu Street at the resort has become clear, people and tourists can go in and out freely, there is no longer a barrier like before. Mr. Phu (Nha Trang City) said: "Nha Trang coastal park strip can be said to be the most beautiful in the country, so the recovery of Ana Mandara resort to serve the community is great, there will be no more broken park strip like before. I hope the government will soon renovate and renovate this area so that people and tourists can benefit"
However, some bungalows facing the sea are still retained. The investor said that he has proposed to the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province to temporarily allow the use of some constructions with suitable architecture, imbued with national cultural identity, in harmony with nature such as green tree systems, swimming pools to serve the public and combine tourism services, until the urban design project for the area east of Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong street is approved.
Nha Trang City People's Committee also believes that the existence of some existing structures at Ana Mandara Nha Trang resort to organize service and utility points for beach and park users is consistent with the orientation of the general planning adjustment project. According to a security guard at the resort, workers still water and take care of the plants every day to ensure the beauty of the area.
Ana Mandara Resort has now moved to Bai Dai area, Cam Lam district.
The area along the east side of Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong Street (Nha Trang City) with a total length of about 15 km, an area of about 240 hectares, has a special landscape and plays an important role in the overall development of tourism, is a coastal park strip serving the public of Nha Trang City. In order to effectively manage land, space, and landscape architecture of this area according to the above-mentioned purposes, the Provincial People's Committee has developed an urban design project for the area east of Tran Phu - Pham Van Dong Street in the direction of creating a green park strip, combined with public services.
