Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that after reviewing all applications for direct admission to grade 10, there were 944 students eligible for admission.
Specifically, there are 81 students who won national and international awards in sports ; 105 students with physical disabilities and 758 students with intellectual disabilities.
These are students who meet the requirements for direct admission to grade 10 according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. The subjects eligible for direct admission include:
Students who are ethnic minorities (implemented according to Clause 1, Article 2 of Decree No. 57/2017/ND-CP); Students who are disabled (with certificates as prescribed); Secondary school students who have won national prizes organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or in coordination with ministries and ministerial-level agencies organized nationwide for competitions on culture, arts, sports, scientific research and technology; Secondary school students who have won prizes in international competitions selected by the Minister of Education and Training.
Before 5pm tomorrow (June 4), the Department of Education and Training will send the list of students admitted directly to the secondary schools where students have submitted their application. Parents of students in the above categories should contact the secondary school where their children are in grade 9 for information.
The Department of Education and Training said that based on the direct admission application, wishes and valid residence information of the candidates (via VNeID or residence confirmation paper), the 10th grade direct admission council uses a GIS digital map to assess the distance from the parents' residence/workplace, combined with their learning ability, convenience of travel, order of wishes and the school's ability to accept them. The allocation may be outside the initial wishes to balance between the optimal learning conditions for students and the actual ability of the units to accept them. The direct admission council allocates students to appropriate public high schools.
