Photo series: More than 76,000 candidates in Ho Chi Minh City complete procedures to take the 10th grade entrance exam

On the morning of June 5, more than 76,000 candidates in Ho Chi Minh City were present at the examination sites to complete the examination procedures and listen to the dissemination of regulations for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

At the Trung Vuong High School exam site (District 1), Mr. Nguyen Minh Hoang, Head of the exam site, said that there were 701 candidates taking the exam. During the procedure, the exam supervisors thoroughly explained the regulations to be noted. Candidates must be present on time and obey the instructions of the exam site and the invigilators.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late after the test start time, you will not be allowed to take the exam. In addition, you will be reminded about the items you can bring into the exam room, your seating position according to your registration number, and the exam room regulations. The invigilators will also advise and encourage you to stay strong before this important exam.

Pre-exam procedures help candidates check personal information, get familiar with the exam location and understand the regulations, thereby being more proactive in the next 2 exam days.

From the parents’ side, the atmosphere outside the exam sites was equally bustling from early morning. Thousands of parents accompanied their children with nervousness and anxiety. They carefully prepared everything from raincoats, umbrellas, hand fans to drinking water to cope with the unpredictable weather in Ho Chi Minh City, ready to support their children during the important exam days.

This year’s 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City will take place over two days, June 6-7. Candidates will take three compulsory subjects: Math, Literature (120 minutes each) and Foreign Language (90 minutes). Candidates applying to specialized schools or integrated classes will take an additional specialized or integrated subject (150 minutes). The total enrollment target for public high schools is 70,070 students.

This is also the first year the exam is organized according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program, with many innovations in the orientation of questions and assessment of students' abilities.
