Note on types of calculators allowed in the 10th grade exam room

76,435 candidates in Ho Chi Minh City completed procedures and listened to instructions on the 10th grade exam regulations for the 2025-2026 school year at 142 exam locations this morning, June 5.

The leader of Dong Khoi Secondary School (District 1) said that candidates who came to complete the procedures for the 10th grade exam were in a rather relaxed mood. Candidates were guided by the invigilators to check their personal information according to the list of candidates in each exam room.

After this procedure, the invigilators will inform the candidates of the exam schedule, time to be present in the exam room during each exam session, and the rules for candidates in the 10th grade exam room.

Candidate NTHA, at the Dong Khoi Secondary School (District 1) exam site, said: "The invigilator in my exam room also informed and reminded candidates many times about the time to be present at the exam site to avoid being late, which would seriously affect their exam. At the same time, he noted that it is important to note about bringing calculators into the math exam room. Candidates need to check their calculator model to see if it has the functions that the teacher announced. If it has the function of editing text or integrating the periodic table... then it is not allowed to bring it into the exam room."

According to regulations, on June 6-7, candidates will take turns taking exams in literature, foreign language, math (if registering for regular grade 10) and specialized/integrated subjects (if registering for specialized/integrated grade 10).

This year's 10th grade entrance exam is assessed by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training to have reduced competitive pressure in public high schools compared to previous school years.

Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City has 76,435 students registered for the 10th grade entrance exam, a decrease of 27,330 students (about 23.5%) compared to previous years. Meanwhile, the total enrollment target for 115 public high schools is 70,070 students, reaching nearly 90%.
