"It was a poor performance. Obviously talent alone is not enough, because when you play in the Premier League, you always have to try and be determined in your game," coach Frank Lampard lamented after the 0-1 loss to Wolves.

"Players have to be faster, duels have to be more fierce than the opponent. That is the basic principle for a team fighting to stay in the Premier League regardless of each team's ability.
"I think there was a little bit of a problem today. The players need to be aware of that because without that they can't win games and they can't be the team that Chelsea used to be or want to be again," added Lampard.

Lampard was appointed as interim manager after Graham Potter was sacked. However, in just a few days, the 44-year-old coach failed to change Chelsea's fortunes and continued to make the Stamford Bridge team winless in the last 4 matches.
This defeat leaves Chelsea in 11th place in the Premier League table with 39 points after 30 matches, 17 points behind fourth-placed Man Utd. Although there are still 8 more rounds of the season to go, it is almost certain that the West London team has run out of chances to compete for a place in next season's Champions League.

On Chelsea's official Twitter page, many fans expressed anger and demanded the immediate dismissal of coach Frank Lampard.
"It's hard to understand how a manager who was sacked by relegation-threatened Everton can manage Chelsea? My respect for Thomas Tuchel keeps growing every day after seeing other managers," said a Chelsea fan.
"Sack Lampard again," another fan called. "Thank you Lampard for the memories of the past but it's time for him to go," another fan agreed.
