Vietnam Sports has a "huge" project until 2035

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has just signed to approve the project "Selection, training, and fostering of sports talents and high-performance sports human resources by 2035".

The project's objective clearly states: The system of selecting, training, and nurturing talents and high-performance sports human resources in Vietnam needs to be innovated, improved, and unified in management in an advanced, professional, and sustainable direction, suitable to the physical characteristics of athletes and the country's socio -economic development level.
Strive to make Vietnam a country with a developed professional sports industry in the continent by 2035. Will select and train about 3,700 national team athletes, of which about 400 athletes have achieved international achievements; select and train and foster about 600 talented coaches (aged 25 - 45), of which about 60 are senior coaches, with special abilities in planning strategies to train athletes to compete and win medals in domestic and international arenas...

The funding for the project will be mobilized from the state budget, other legal funding sources, and from domestic and foreign organizations and individuals. A sports industry leader said that the total funding for the 16-year project implementation could amount to several thousand billion VND.
