The Ministry of Education and Training has just issued a document on exemption from high school graduation exams and priority for direct admission to universities and colleges in 2025 for students participating in the International Science and Technology Competition in 2025.
Accordingly, the Vietnamese delegation includes 11 grade 12 students from many provinces and cities across the country.
The Ministry of Education and Training requests that the Departments of Education and Training exempt these students from the 2024-2025 high school graduation exam according to the regulations of the high school graduation exam.
Along with that, universities, academies, colleges and junior colleges will give priority to direct admission to universities and colleges in 2025 according to the regulations of the admission regulations for these 11 candidates.

Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training announced a list of 133 12th graders participating in national teams competing in international and regional Olympics in 2025 who are exempted from the high school graduation exam.
Of these, Math is the most popular subject with 35 students, followed by Physics with 31 students, Chemistry with 25 students, Biology and Informatics with 21 students. According to regulations, the above students also need to achieve good training results for the entire 12th grade year and study with a good grade or higher to be exempted from the exam and go straight to university.
Thus, up to now, a total of 144 students have been exempted from the high school graduation exam and given priority for direct admission in 2025.
This year, the high school graduation exam will take place on June 26-27. According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, the total number of candidates registered for the high school graduation exam is 1,165,289; an increase of 93,894 registrations compared to last year (in 2024, the total number of candidates registered for the high school graduation exam is 1,071,395).
Of which, 1,122,507 grade 12 candidates took the exam according to the 2018 generaleducation program (accounting for 96.33%), 42,782 independent candidates (accounting for 3.67%).
Candidates taking the graduation exam for the first time under the new general education program must take four exams, including Math and Literature. In addition, candidates must choose two subjects they have studied at school (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economics and Law, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Language).
Candidates taking the old program (2006 program) will take the Literature, Math, Foreign Language exams, and one of two exams: Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civic Education).
High school graduation exam scores for 2025 were announced on July 16.
