With a stable political foundation, high and sustainable economic growth potential; investor-friendly policies, moderate labor costs, deep integration with many FTAs and many new industrial centers coming into operation... Vietnam has become a favorite destination for FDI investors looking for attractive investment opportunities. Among the countries investing in Vietnam in recent years, Singapore has always been the leading country. In 2023, Singaporean enterprises invested 6.8 billion USD, an increase of 5.4% over the same period in 2022 and accounted for 18.6% of total investment capital in Vietnam. Along with the continuous increase in investment capital is the increasing presence of large enterprises and corporations, along with high-value investment projects in many areas of Singapore's strengths such as energy, real estate, industrial park real estate, etc. Many enterprises are leading names in Singapore that have become partners of BIDV such as VSIP, Shopee, OLAM, CapitaLand, Keppel Land, Sembcorp, etc. 2024 is forecasted to be a challenging time for the world in general and Vietnam in particular, the global economic growth is slowing down, along with internal risks and challenges that still exist, negatively affecting domestic and foreign enterprises. FDI enterprises investing in Vietnam need more multi-dimensional information to consider in order to make decisions, orientations, and strategies to overcome the current difficult and challenging period. The workshop jointly organized by BIDV and SingCham met that urgent need. At the workshop, Dr. Can Van Luc - Chief Economist of BIDV and Mr. Vuong Thanh Long - Director of BIDV Capital and Currency Trading Department were the two main speakers. Dr. Can Van Luc provided a lot of useful information about the macroeconomic situation, financial market, real estate, opportunities and policies to attract FDI in Vietnam in 2023, trends in 2024 and the following years... Mr. Vuong Thanh Long shared the products and services that BIDV is providing to foreign corporate customers with the hope that BIDV can become a domestic banking partner with capacity, experience and trust for FDI customers. At the same time, businesses also frankly discussed and asked BIDV representatives to answer many issues that FDI investors are interested in, such as difficulties related to the impact of the global political context on the domestic economy, bright spots attracting FDI to Vietnam, prospects for the real estate market, energy, economy when Vietnam participates in trade agreements such as CPTPP, RCEP... and many other macro contents. With a deep knowledge base and a rich, solid data system...Mr. Vuong Thanh Long (far right) participated in the discussion and answered questions that FDI investors are interested in. Photo: Duc Kien
Dr. Can Van Luc and Mr. Vuong Thanh Long clearly answered and provided full information that FDI enterprises were interested in. The multi-dimensional, realistic and appropriate information provided by BIDV speakers was highly appreciated by SingCham members and other FDI enterprises. This is an important information base, creating conditions for FDI enterprises to consider and make more appropriate investment decisions in Vietnam as well as establish and promote cooperation with BIDV, including event focal branches such as Nam Sai Gon, Hanoi ...Promoting the role of a leading commercial bank in Vietnam, BIDV has developed strategies and implemented many policies to strengthen extensive cooperation with FDI enterprises. In particular, BIDV regularly coordinates with Foreign Business Associations in Vietnam to organize many working programs/seminars to exchange information, share experiences, and remove difficulties and obstacles to support FDI enterprises. With its efforts and positive results in promoting cooperation and supporting FDI enterprises to invest in Vietnam, BIDV was honored by Asian Banking & Finance Magazine as "Best FDI Customer Service Bank in Vietnam" in 2022 and 2023. This is an affirmation of BIDV's prestige and pioneering position in this field. |
