According to the Departmentof Education and Training (GD-DT) of Hai Phong City, after learning about the incident in which Pham Ngoc K. (born in 2008, a 9D student at Truong Son Secondary School, An Lao District) and his father and sister suffocated while sleeping in a car, the Education Trade Union organized a visit to share with the student and his family. However, the unit has not yet received a proposal from the GD-DT Department of An Lao District on how to ensure the rights of the student who unfortunately had an accident.
The patients were taken to Kien An Hospital for emergency treatment.
According to the representative of the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training, according to the admission regulations, there is no provision for special consideration in this case. Therefore, if students wish to continue studying in grade 10 of high school in the 2023-2024 school year, the Department will require private schools to accept students; at the same time, apply maximum support for tuition fees and other fees during the study process.
In case students wish to continue studying in grade 10 of a public high school, they will take the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year.
Previously, as reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, Pham Ngoc K., his father and sister were found suffocated by relatives while sleeping in the family car in An Lao District at around 3 a.m. on June 2. On the night of June 1 and early morning of June 2, the area where the victims lived had a power outage while the weather was very hot.
After the victims were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment, the older sister died, while K. and her father regained consciousness.
Mr. Vu Ngoc Dung, Head of the Department of Education and Training of An Lao district, said that on the morning of June 2, student K. is expected to take the Literature exam in the entrance exam for grade 10 in the 2023-2024 school year. According to Mr. Dung, the Department of Education and Training has instructed the family and the school to submit an application to the Department of Education and Training of An Lao district so that the department can submit a report to the Department of Education and Training of Hai Phong to request special treatment for female student K. to be directly admitted to Quoc Tuan High School.
