The Hanoi Singing Contest 2025 is taking place with many professional activities and cultural experiences for the contestants.
This year, for the first time in the history of the competition, international contestants living and working in Vietnam were able to participate, demonstrating the strong integration spirit of the Capital. There were many international contestants from countries such as Russia, Japan, Korea, China, Laos, Thailand and Mongolia, contributing to creating a colorful picture of culture and performance style. In addition, the participation of contestants from the Central and Southern regions helped the contest not only stop at the regional scale but also reach the national scale.
For that reason, Hanoi Radio and Television (Hanoi Radio) launched a cultural space experience event on the cultural tourist train "Hanoi 5 gates" (The Hanoi Train) for 61 contestants who passed the semi-finals of the Chamber, Folk, and Light Music styles.
During the journey, the contestants enjoyed many traditional cultural and artistic forms such as: Quan Ho folk songs, Ca Tru, Cheo singing, Xam singing..., and learned about Hanoi's culture, architecture, music , and cuisine in the train space.
Through this activity, the image of a friendly Hanoi, rich in tradition and creative inspiration, was spread, thereby highlighting the role of the contestants on the journey to become public figures, with social responsibility in preserving and conserving heritage.
Departing from Hanoi Railway Station, the train travels through Long Bien, Gia Lam and Yen Vien Stations. From the stop at Tu Son Station (Bac Ninh), the train continues to Do Temple - an important historical relic complex of Kinh Bac region, where eight kings of the Ly Dynasty are worshipped. Sharing with reporters of VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper, Elena Yugay, a Russian contestant born in 1989, was excited to have the opportunity to learn more about Hanoi culture.
“I have been in Hanoi for 4 years and was a student of Vietnamese studies. I find this trip very meaningful, contributing to fostering creative inspiration, helping contestants have more artistic materials to express their personal style in the following competition nights,” Elena shared./.
The Hanoi Singing Contest 2025 has nearly 700 registered contestants.
The Final Night will take place at the Hoan Kiem Theater on December 9. Each contestant will perform two songs: one song in their chosen musical style, and one song about Hanoi. The scores of the night will be the sole basis for determining the rankings and official awards.
This year's jury has 36 members, double the number of previous seasons.
