Candidates who applied early but their names are not on the admission list, why?

According to the Ministry of Education and Training's admission schedule, schools completed the early admission process and updated the list of candidates eligible for early admission to the admission system on July 5. However, in reality, there were candidates who were eligible for early admission but the schools did not promptly update the list to the system. When these candidates looked up information on the admission system, they did not see any information about their wishes that were eligible for admission.

In the online television consultation program organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper on July 20 with the topic "Registering for smart admission wishes", the consultant shared related information about this case.

Dr. Nguyen Van Kha, Deputy Director of the Admissions and Communications Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, said that according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates who have met the conditions for early admission at universities but are not yet on the list of successful candidates on the software must register on the information portal of the Ministry of Education and Training to be considered for admission. In case they want to study a major that is eligible for early admission and was considered at the previous school, candidates must register for that major in their first choice. Universities will still consider candidates based on the results of the previous early admission round to ensure the rights of candidates. Candidates need to immediately contact the schools they have registered for early admission for timely support.

Regarding this group of candidates, Master Truong Quang Tri, Deputy Head of Student Affairs Department of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, noted: "This year, candidates who are eligible for early admission but skip the registration step and pay the admission fee on the Ministry of Education and Training's system will not be officially admitted. In addition, after the time the universities announce the admission scores, candidates still have to complete the online admission procedures on the system."

Mr. Tri emphasized: "Candidates have the right not to confirm admission in the first round, which means refusing the opportunity to be admitted in the first round to participate in the additional admission exam. However, students need to consider carefully because in the additional round, depending on the school and the major, whether or not there is additional consideration."

Providing more information for candidates applying for admission, Mr. Vu Quang Huy, Deputy Director of the Admissions Consulting Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, said that the school has announced the minimum score for graduation exam scores for all majors ranging from 16-19 points, in which the information technology major has the highest acceptance rate. "Candidates can refer to the benchmark scores of the last 3 years of schools according to specific majors. However, this year, 7-8 points/subject is the score that many candidates have achieved, so the level of competition among candidates in this score range is very high," Mr. Huy advised.
