University of Finance - Marketing opens the 2025 - 2029 school year

GD&TĐ - The opening ceremony welcomed more than 6,200 new students and opened a series of activities towards the 50th anniversary of the school's tradition.

On the morning of November 1, the University of Finance and Marketing (HCMC) held the opening ceremony of the 25th class, school year 2025 - 2029, welcoming more than 6,200 new full-time students.

Attending the opening ceremony were Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc, Deputy Minister of Finance Le Tan Can and representatives of central agencies, Ho Chi Minh City, departments, branches, organizations and enterprises.

Associate Professor Dr. Pham Tien Dat, Principal of University of Finance - Marketing, spoke at the opening ceremony.

In his opening speech, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Tien Dat congratulated the new students of course 25D and shared the school's strategic orientation for the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, the school focuses on promoting the effectiveness and efficiency of science and technology, innovation and discipline so that students can firmly take the lead and make spectacular breakthroughs in the era of strong and sustainable development of the Vietnamese nation.

In particular, the school principal sent a message to new students about the journey of conquering knowledge and the desire for success.

Success is a long journey with many levels and destinations, and success does not leave the footprints of lazy and unmotivated people. Success does not come to those who just wait for luck; it only comes when students decide to commit, be determined, persevere and persistently practice and move forward.

"I believe and hope that all of you have a positive attitude and passion for learning to achieve your dreams, to have the right to be proud of the most beautiful youth at the University of Finance and Marketing," the school's principal said.

At the ceremony, the school honored and awarded 4 valedictorians, 4 salutatorians and 61 students with high scores in the 2025 regular university entrance exam.

In addition, 29 "Support to UFM School in 2025" scholarships, worth 855 million VND, were awarded to new students with difficult circumstances, helping them to firmly step on their journey of learning and growing up.

This school year, the school received the companionship and support of many domestic and foreign organizations and businesses with a total sponsorship value of 7.9 billion VND.

The opening ceremony also opened a series of activities celebrating the school's 50th anniversary.

A special highlight of this year's opening ceremony is the launching ceremony of the Logo commemorating the 50th anniversary of the tradition of the University of Finance and Marketing (September 1, 1976 - September 1, 2026).

The logo symbolizes half a century of knowledge creation, creativity and integration, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and the desire to constantly improve of many generations of teachers and students of the school.

Pioneering in university autonomy

On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training, along with personal feelings, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc sent warm congratulations to teachers, officials, employees, workers and all students of the University of Finance - Marketing on the occasion of the opening ceremony.

The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the strong and sustainable development of the school in recent times, especially in university autonomy.

The school's scale and training quality are constantly being improved; many training majors attract students such as Financial Technology, Accounting, Marketing, International Business, Data Science, etc.

All undergraduate and master's training programs have been accredited according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The school has been attracting highly qualified lecturers through innovative human resource policies. The facilities are increasingly modern, spacious, meeting educational standards, creating a quality learning and research environment for lecturers and students.

The Politburo has just issued Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development, along with Conclusion No. 91-KL/TW on continuing to implement fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training.

In order to effectively implement the Party and State's policies and guidelines on education and training, and successfully achieve the set goals, the Education sector has determined the theme of the school year as: "Discipline - Creativity - Breakthrough - Development" with 10 key tasks and solutions.

In which, the 7th task is to "modernize university education and vocational education, create breakthroughs in human resource training, especially high-quality human resources associated with scientific research and innovation".

The Deputy Minister affirmed that the tasks of the education sector in general and higher education in particular are both heavy and glorious.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc proposed a number of key tasks to the school.

To contribute to the successful implementation of those goals, the Deputy Minister requested the University of Finance and Marketing to continue promoting the achievements it has made, upholding the spirit of dynamism, creativity, and high political determination, with specific mechanisms and methods suitable to the general situation of the whole country.

First of all, it is necessary to strengthen political and ideological education, consolidate the political system, Party organizations and unions in the school, build solidarity and unity, create internal strength for all staff, lecturers, workers and students to overcome difficulties and excellently complete assigned tasks.

Along with that, the school needs to develop a team of leading staff, lecturers and scientists to meet immediate and long-term requirements, while boldly attracting international experts and scientists through flexible and appropriate mechanisms.

At the same time, it is necessary to strongly innovate training content and programs in the direction of closely linking with social practices, improving the quality of human resources, aiming to assess and ensure educational quality according to regional and international standards.

Finally, the school needs to focus resources on effectively implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, thereby creating a solid foundation for the school's sustainable development in the new period.
