Specifically, in the second quarter, the number of computers shipped globally reached 64.9 million devices. This figure increased by 3% compared to the same period last year.
Accordingly, Lenovo is the market leader with 14.7 million devices shipped, up 3.7% year-on-year. It is also the market leader with 22.7% of the global PC market share.

Second place belongs to HP with 13.7 million devices shipped, accounting for 21.1% of the global computer market share. The next positions belong to Dell with 15.5% market share, Apple with 8.8% market share and Acer with 6.8% market share.
"The PC market is unlike any other technology industry. Consumers are increasingly interested in AI computers. AI computers will be a major driver of continued market growth in the coming years," said Ryan Reith, vice president at IDC.
In recent months, most computer manufacturers have focused on developing AI-integrated devices. This has also contributed to making the market more vibrant.
Experts at IDC believe that the market has strong growth potential thanks to the AI trend. Big players such as Qualcomm, Intel and AMD have all announced new generations of chips with integrated AI. Meanwhile, Apple will also introduce new computer models in the second half of the year.
“The market went through a slowdown due to inventory build-up last year. The average price of products is also gradually increasing,” said Jitesh Ubrani, senior director at IDC.
