At Tan Viet Bookstore Nam Dinh branch, the bookstore representative said: In preparation for this year's school year, the bookstore has carefully prepared textbooks and learning materials. Regarding textbooks, there are currently more than 600 books of all kinds, textbook sets sold in sets from reputable publishers such as Vietnam Education Publishing House, Pedagogical University Publishing House, National University Publishing House. Regarding learning materials, the bookstore has fully prepared essential tools to provide students with eye-catching designs, forms and high quality from reputable suppliers. In addition, the prices are still very affordable and competitive, suitable for people's budgets during the economic recession. The bookstore offers a “Back to School” promotion program, with sales policies that benefit consumers such as buy 5 get 1 free, buy 10 get 1 free notebook, 15-25% discount on essential products such as backpacks, school bags, pens, set squares, compasses, rulers, etc. In addition, as a new unit entering the Nam Dinh market, to attract customers, the bookstore focuses on organizing talkshows from CEO Tan Viet Nguyen Kim Thoa and experts at branches and at the bookstore before the new school year.

Fahasa Nam Dinh Bookstore also organizes many attractive promotions for books, school supplies and supports customers with preferential prices from 10-50% along with many attractive gifts. Some bookstores, typically Nhan Dan Bookstore in Nam Dinh city, have applied a textbook discount program of about 5-10% compared to the cover price and compared to last year, applied to textbooks of VietnamEducation Publishing House.

Regarding school supplies, according to the reporter's records, the highlight of this year's market is the "occupation" of market share by high-quality Vietnamese products by major domestic brands such as: Hong Ha notebooks, Campus notebooks, writing pens, Ben Nghe, Hai Tien, Thien Long ballpoint pens... Ms. Pham Thu Ha in Phan Dinh Phung street (Nam Dinh city) said: "My child is in grade 12 this year and is studying under the new General Education Program (GDPT), so he is required to buy new textbooks. Currently, all bookstores have promotional programs, so I take the opportunity to buy textbooks, notebooks and school supplies for my child. I choose to buy books according to the combination my child has chosen and according to the textbook list announced by the school. Regarding school supplies, I prioritize choosing high-quality Vietnamese products."

In addition to common school supplies such as paper, pens, notebook labels, many products with health protection features for students such as anti-myopia lamps, anti-glare boards, anti-hunchback backpacks, etc., are also introduced and sold at large bookstores or in the areas of streets and areas: Quang Trung, Tran Hung Dao, Hoang Van Thu, Hung Yen, Han Thuyen, Rong market area, etc. with many diverse designs.

Contribute to market stabilization

Based on the number of students in each grade, especially the results of textbook selection by schools according to the list approved by the Provincial People's Committee, book suppliers in the province are planning to import books and transport them to agents and schools to supply to students and participate in market stabilization.

Up to now, Nam Dinh Educational Equipment and Book Joint Stock Company has imported 1.7 million copies of textbooks and supplementary books. This number of books is being supplied to agents and schools in the province to serve the new school year. Mr. Tran Quoc Hung, Director of the company, said: Based on the number of students in each grade, this school year, it is expected that students from primary to high school will need over 2 million copies of textbooks for all subjects; of which, with 1.7 million copies of textbooks and supplementary books already available, the company has currently met 70% of the number of books for all subjects. The company strives to ensure sufficient supply of books for schools and agents in the province, and is expected to complete the distribution of over 2 million copies of books to agents and schools by the end of August.

This school year, all grades from grades 1-12 have implemented the 2018 General Education Program. Implementing the 2018 General Education Program, the province's textbook market is currently being participated by 2 major publishers: Vietnam Education Publishing House with 3 book series "Connecting knowledge with life", "Creative horizon", "Global Success"; University of Education Publishing House with the book series "Canh Dieu". According to representatives of textbook suppliers in the province, because schools in the province mainly use the above book series, most companies and bookstores choose to import books from these publishers to supply wholesale to schools and retail to parents and students. Mr. Pham Duy Thanh, Head of Business Department, Nam Ha Book Distribution Joint Stock Company, and also the manager at Nhan Dan Bookstore in Nam Dinh city, said: To meet the demand for buying textbooks and learning materials for the new school year, the bookstore has imported 20,000 copies of textbooks and supplementary books, including 4 sets, of which 3 sets are from Vietnam Education Publishing House and 1 set is from the University of Education Publishing House. According to Mr. Thanh and textbook suppliers, most book prices are reduced by 10-15% compared to the cover price, compared to last year and applied uniformly nationwide according to the regulations of Vietnam Education Publishing House. Particularly, the textbook set for grade 12 - the class implementing the new program this year, the price fluctuates around 500,000 VND/set (including English books). Regarding stationery and school supplies such as paper, pens, notebook labels, erasers, rulers, the unit imports goods domestically, in particular, many products are high-quality Vietnamese goods from major brands such as: Hong Ha, Hai Tien, Campus, Deli...

To meet the needs of selecting and using textbooks for the new school year, the Department of Education and Training has coordinated with publishing houses, book and school equipment businesses to introduce books for schools to choose from. Immediately after the Provincial People's Committee approved the List of Textbooks for Grades 5, 9, 12 and the List of Textbooks for Grade 1 of some primary schools in the province from the 2024-2025 school year (Decision No. 1475/QD-UBND dated July 12, 2024), schools have allowed students to register to buy books at school. Students can also buy books themselves according to the school's requirements based on the results of their subject selection. It is expected that by the end of August, all registered copies of books will be supplied to schools.

The new school year 2024-2025 is approaching. In order to avoid buying pirated textbooks and poor quality school supplies, parents and students should buy books and school supplies at reputable stores and bookstores that ensure quality and reasonable prices.
