Putting aside her sales, this whole week, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Lien (Hoang Hoa Tham Street, Hanoi ) has spent almost all her time going to temples and pagodas to pray for luck for her daughter before the 10th grade entrance exam. She went from Dau Pagoda (Thuong Tin) to Tu Tran, Ngoc Son Temple, Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, Bach Ma Pagoda, Kim Lien Communal House, Quan Thanh Temple, Voi Phuc Temple...
"I'm not superstitious, but I went to send my faith and peace to my child before the stressful exam. My child studies hard, I just hope he has a little luck to do well on the exam," she shared.

Her daughter registered her first choice at Pham Hong Thai High School. Despite her best efforts, English is still her weak point, often scoring only 5-6 points. With the new scoring method that does not include coefficients, a poor score in Foreign Language becomes a big disadvantage. Thinking ahead, Ms. Lien has made a backup plan for a private school. However, she still hopes her daughter will be admitted to a public school.
"Honestly, I'm more nervous than my child. Even though I'm not taking the exam, my heart beats fast every time I think about it. I can only encourage my child: stay calm, do as much as you can, don't put too much pressure on yourself. I tell my child that, but my heart is restless," Lien confided.
