Vinh Chau town launched a 30-day and night peak competition "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses"

STO - On the afternoon of May 27, the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Vinh Chau Town (Soc Trang) held a conference to review the emulation movement and launch a 30-day and night peak emulation campaign "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses". Attending the conference were comrades: Ho Thi Cam Dao - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ngo Hung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Duong Sa Kha - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Vinh Chau Town Party Committee; local leaders.

According to statistics, the whole town has 2,263 households in need of housing support, of which 1,742 households were newly built and 521 households were repaired. The results have been distributed to communes and wards in 3 phases, with 2,249 houses, and 14 houses have not been allocated due to the second conversion request. Specifically, 286 poor households; 1,618 near-poor households; 117 poor households under the Socio -economic Development Program for Ethnic Minority Areas; 242 households with meritorious services facing housing difficulties. As of May 25, the total number of completed houses was 1,776, the remaining 487 houses are being implemented by communes and wards, and will be completed in June 2025.

To complete the set goal, comrade Tran Tri Van - Vice Chairman of the Town People's Committee launched a 30-day peak emulation campaign "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" (from May 19, 2025 to June 19, 2025) throughout the town. Mobilizing all levels, sectors, armed forces, enterprises, cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and all people of the town to promote and spread the spirit of "mutual love" of the Vietnamese people, through practical actions, joining hands to successfully implement the emulation campaign. The peak emulation campaign with the motto "Whoever has something to contribute, whoever has merit contributes merit, whoever has property contributes property, whoever has a lot contributes a lot, whoever has little contributes little". Each citizen and each organization, based on their functions and tasks, should promote their full potential, enthusiasm, responsibility, initiative, creativity, and flexibility to join hands and contribute to creating a widespread, substantive, and effective movement to successfully achieve the goal of completely eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people in the town by June 19, 2025.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Ho Thi Cam Dao emphasized that through launching a peak emulation campaign, Vinh Chau town will mobilize all resources to complete the plan to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households in the town. To do this, heads of departments, branches, sectors and localities must promote the highest responsibility to set an example, be pioneers, be exemplary, and resolutely lead and direct in the spirit of "Cadres and Party members go first, the country follows". Thereby encouraging the companionship and support of agencies, enterprises, organizations and individuals for poor households, near-poor households and households in difficult circumstances. The implementation process must strictly ensure standards, procedures, regulations and comply with the law in the process of providing housing support to the right people, with quality, practicality and efficiency, without allowing negativity, corruption and waste to occur.

On this occasion, Vinh Chau Town People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 11 collectives and 30 individuals with outstanding achievements in the implementation of "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses".
