Mobilizing over 9.2 billion VND to support Agent Orange victims and people with disabilities

STO - On the morning of May 28, at the headquarters of the special associations of Soc Trang province, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin of the province held an Executive Committee meeting to evaluate the association's activities in the first 6 months of 2025. Mr. Nguyen Hung - Chairman of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin of Soc Trang province chaired the meeting.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the association at all levels has promoted resource mobilization, effectively implemented policies for people with meritorious services, paid attention to, cared for, and supported victims of Agent Orange and people with disabilities; responded to and participated in new rural construction programs, eliminated temporary and dilapidated houses in the locality... Specifically, the association at all levels has mobilized over 9.2 billion VND to support victims of Agent Orange, people with disabilities, and the poor. Of which, support was provided for repairing and building 7 new houses, building 8 rural bridges; providing medical examination and medicine to over 2,200 people; 29 wheelchairs, rocking chairs; 72 scholarships; support for raising 54 victims at home...

At the meeting, the members of the Executive Committee agreed on a number of contents and activities proposed for the last 6 months of the year. In particular, continuing to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement Directive No. 43-CT/TW, dated May 14, 2015 of the Central Party Secretariat "On strengthening the Party's leadership in overcoming the consequences of toxic chemicals used by the US during the war in Vietnam"; at the same time, directing the summary of 10 years (2015 - 2025) of implementing this directive.

After having a project to stabilize the organization of mass organizations under the Fatherland Front Committee, based on the situation, conditions and functions, the association will have a document guiding appropriate activities.
