Amidst the stormy sea, the flag-raising ceremony of officers, soldiers and people on Truong Sa island took place solemnly and emotionally.
From April 22 to 28, Working Group No. 7 led by Rear Admiral Nguyen Dinh Hung, Deputy Commander of the Navy, visited and encouraged the soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district; and participated in the flag-raising ceremony and review of the troops on Truong Sa island.

48 years ago, in the heroic spirit of the army corps advancing to liberate the South, under the direction of the Central Military Commission, the Navy launched attacks, liberating the islands of Son Ca, Nam Yet, Sinh Ton, Truong Sa Lon... At 9:00 a.m. on April 28, 1975, Truong Sa Lon island was liberated, completing the mission of liberating Truong Sa. Before the sovereignty milestone and the national flag, the flag-saluting ceremony of officers, soldiers and people on Truong Sa island took place solemnly and emotionally.
The flag-raising ceremony was attended by many delegates and military and civilian forces on Truong Sa island.
In the solemn atmosphere, the National Anthem resounded majestically, blending with the sound of waves in the middle of the ocean. Looking at the red flag with yellow star fluttering in the wind and sun of Truong Sa, every officer, soldier and citizen on the island was filled with emotion and pride.
The ten oaths of honor were loudly chanted by the officers and soldiers. It was also a strong affirmation of the army and people on the island, determined to overcome all challenges, to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands - an inseparable part of the territory of the Fatherland of Vietnam.
The 10 honorary oaths of the soldiers were recited loudly: "We, soldiers in the Vietnam People's Army, with the honor of revolutionary soldiers, swear under the glorious flag of the Fatherland...". The soldiers shouted in unison "I swear, I swear, I swear" after each oath.
All eyes were on the red flag with a yellow star proudly flying in the blue sky. Each oath was a promise of honor from a soldier to the Party, to the people, and to the national flag.
After the flag-raising ceremony, under the background music "Marching under the military flag", the honor guard review ceremony with the majestic and heroic spirit of the Vietnam People's Army was performed in front of the sovereignty milestone and the national flag.
With a strong demeanor and determination under any circumstances, officers and soldiers at the front lines of the Fatherland still hold their guns firmly to protect the sacred sky and sea.

The delegates shared that they had attended many flag-raising ceremonies in their lives, but for those who set foot on Truong Sa for the first time, there had never been a flag-raising ceremony as emotional as this one.
At the sovereignty milestone in the remote sea and island, on the land soaked with the blood of our ancestors, every Vietnamese child is more deeply imbued with the two sacred words - Fatherland.
