Commenting on the storm's developments, early on the morning of June 15, Deputy Head of the Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Nguyen Huu Thanh said that after moving deep into the mainland of the southwestern region of Guangdong province (China), storm No. 1 weakened into a tropical depression.
Previously, at 10:00 p.m. on June 14, the center of the tropical depression was at about 22.7 degrees North latitude; 110.8 degrees East longitude. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 7 (50-61 km/h), gusting to level 9.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will continue to move mainly in the Northeast direction, moving deep into the mainland of Guangdong province (China), weakening and gradually dissipating, no longer able to directly affect Vietnam. Risk of flash floods and landslides in Lai Chau province
