Weather June 5: Thunderstorms continue in the North

(PLVN) - According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today the Northern region continues to have thunderstorms, especially in the Northwest and Viet Bac regions, some places will have heavy rain.

The Hydrometeorological Agency forecasts that from early morning to night on June 5, in the Northwest and Viet Bac regions, from Thanh Hoa to Hue, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, locally over 70mm (rain concentrated in the morning, evening and night).

From the afternoon and evening of June 5, in the Central Highlands and the South, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, locally over 70mm.

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.

Regarding the weather at sea, currently, the Gulf of Tonkin, the North East Sea (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago), the South East Sea (including the waters of the Truong Sa archipelago), the waters from Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand have showers and thunderstorms.

Forecast for the day and night of June 5, the North East Sea (including the Hoang Sa archipelago), the Central and South East Sea (including the Truong Sa archipelago), the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind of level 6-7 and waves over 2.0m high.

All vessels operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
