South Korea's only news agency - Yonhap News gave Phu Quoc many compliments in the article "Vietnam's little-known luxury resort paradise", published in early September. Reporter Baek Seung-ryeol - the author of the article, praised Phu Quoc for its clean, emerald green beaches, next to 5-star resorts with beautiful views overlooking the entire ocean.
The news site suggests that Korean tourists should visit Phu Quoc before it becomes too famous, as the destination is still relatively unknown compared to other popular tourist destinations such as Da Nang or Ha Long Bay. According to a survey by Yonhap, the number of Korean tourists to Phu Quoc is gradually increasing thanks to word of mouth, and it is "wise to visit here at this time, before it becomes too famous". The number of Korean tourists to the island is increasing, to the point that Korean signs can often be seen at restaurants and massage parlors in the center of the island city.
Beautiful and peaceful beaches in Phu Quoc
Suggesting a trip to Phu Quoc, reporter Baek Seung-ryeol divided it into 3 experiences: staying at resorts in the south of the island, strolling around the "Mediterranean" town of Sunset Town, and visiting a temple with a statue of Guanyin Buddha overlooking the sea.
Resort paradises in the south of the island
The southern part of Phu Quoc Island is home to many 5-star resorts, where visitors can enjoy the sea view from the swimming pool, even from their rooms. Yonhap commented that the resorts here are a family travel paradise due to their many amenities such as spas, fitness centers, event rooms, kids clubs, and many outdoor activities for the whole family such as yoga classes, scuba diving, cycling, etc. The resorts recommended by Yonhap are Premier Residences Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort, and La Veranda. Accordingly, Premier Residences Phu Quoc Emerald Bay was highly appreciated by Yonhap reporters thanks to its beautiful sea view and the wonderful taste of fresh charcoal-grilled seafood. Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort has a spectacular view of the sun and a unique terraced swimming pool, making Baek Seun-ryeol "continuously press the shutter button" and "not wanting to miss a moment".

One resort that Yonhap particularly appreciated was the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa, designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley. "The resort is truly unique, its design recreates a French university in the early 1900s with rooms decorated as departments from biology, zoology, astronomy..." The resort's Pink Pearl restaurant impresses with its beautiful pastel pink color, making visitors feel like they are in a fairy tale.

See the Mediterranean in a tropical country
In addition to experiencing beautiful resorts, Yonhap suggests tourists visit the "Mediterranean" town. This place is actually called Sunset Town, 10 minutes west of JW Marriott Phu Quoc. "Here, world- famous landmarks such as the ruins of Pompeii, the Roman arena... are recreated," reporter Baek Seung-ryeol shared.
He suggested that visitors experience the world's longest three-wire cable car with a station in the middle of town to go to Hon Thom Island. At the cable car station, visitors can see a giant clock tower similar to the famous San Marco bell tower in Venice, Italy. "It's a unique experience to see the Mediterranean landscape in a tropical country," said a Yonhap reporter.

Visit Ho Quoc Pagoda
In addition to resort experiences, Phu Quoc is also a suitable destination for exploring culture and visiting historical sites with many interesting legends. Ho Quoc Pagoda is the largest pagoda on the island, loved by tourists because it is located on a hill with a direct view of the sea. According to Yonhap, this is a beautiful sunrise destination that visitors should visit early in the day.
Entering the temple, you can admire Buddhist artworks, including the staircase leading to the main hall decorated with a striking gilded dragon sculpture. The temple has a statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva looking out to sea, which Yonhap reporters likened to Linh Ung Pagoda in Son Tra, Da Nang.

This is not the first time the Korean media has paid attention to Phu Quoc. Last June, many newspapers and news sites in the land of kimchi also reported that the Vietnamese island city is being noticed as a new world-class tourist destination, with its natural beauty, temperate climate, and the constant investment and innovation efforts of Vietnamese businesses.
