Information on customs clearance activities for goods through Kim Thanh international road border gate No. II, Lao Cai province
In recent times, customs clearance of goods through Kim Thanh International Road Border Gate No. II, Lao Cai Province has been somewhat restored, with the amount of agricultural products exported to Lao Cai increasing day by day. However, the COVID-19 epidemic situation worldwide continues to be complicated. To ensure the prevention and control of COVID-19, quarantine agencies at the border gates on both sides (Vietnam and China) maintain strict disease inspection in accordance with regulations. Therefore, the speed of customs clearance of Vietnam's export shipments at the Chinese border gate has not improved, and at times there has been a congestion of goods at the border gate, posing potential risks to agricultural products.
To ensure the smooth export of Vietnamese agricultural products and avoid losses to traders and producers, the Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Phong City recommends that businesses regularly monitor and exchange information with the authorities of Hai Phong City to update and grasp the situation of export activities through the Kim Thanh International Road Border Gate No. II, Lao Cai Province to proactively harvest and purchase goods, coordinate to provide information on the appropriate volume of goods expected to be transported to the Lao Cai provincial border gate for partners in Lao Cai Province and China. Especially with agricultural products that are mainly exported in the form of buying and selling, exchanging with border residents on the Chinese side.
Continue to focus on and pay attention to implementing export transactions according to international practices through foreign trade contracts (official in China), contacting Chinese goods owners to negotiate a gradual transition to official forms and proactively taking measures to be ready to switch to official exports such as: labels, traceability, origin of goods, indications of growing areas, testing, quarantine, packaging specifications, quality, types...
The Department of Industry and Trade of Lao Cai province will prioritize supporting the issuance of Certificates of Origin (C/O) for agricultural shipments that can be exported under official channels.
The Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Phong city will regularly update and provide information on the export situation of goods in Lao Cai province.
