Mr. Ma Doan Khanh, Vice Chairman of Lung Cu Commune People's Committee, affirmed: There is no situation of service prices being 2-3 times higher as reported. Households basically comply with regulations on prices and food hygiene and safety.
According to Mr. Khanh, after the inspection, the commune will continue to promote propaganda to raise people's awareness of civilized business, maintain the reputation of community tourism ; and require households to commit to strictly complying with legal regulations.
In Dong Van commune, where there were also complaints about the quality of specialties, Mr. Pham Duc Nam, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, stated: Through actual inspection, there was no incident as reported. In the coming time, the commune will put into use an area to display and sell local specialties with a clearly listed price list, so that visitors can rest assured in choosing quality products with transparent origins.
According to Mr. Nam, to strengthen management, Dong Van commune has established an interdisciplinary team to conduct regular inspections and assigned the Market Management force to coordinate supervision. The commune has signed contracts with many households and restaurants to supply local products that meet standards and comply with legal regulations, thereby ensuring the interests of tourists as well as the reputation of the destination.
Previously, on September 16, on the social network "Hong bien Tuyen Quang", a tourist's post appeared, stating that the service price at Lo Lo Chai was too high, "3 times more expensive than the actual price" along with a reflection on buying poor quality smoked pork in Dong Van commune (shared from the Ha Giang Tourism group). This information quickly attracted many opposing opinions, affecting the image of local tourism.
On September 16, Lung Cu Commune People's Committee established a working group of 7 members. Mr. Ma Doan Khanh, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, directly led the group to inspect all business establishments in the village.
Preliminary results show that the village has 51 homestays, 2 restaurants, 5 snack and souvenir shops. 100% of establishments have listed prices. Homestay room prices range from 500,000 - 1.2 million VND/room with full facilities; dormitory rooms from 100,000 - 200,000 VND/person. Food and beverage businesses have licenses, commit to food safety, and goods are properly preserved. Some businesses selling specialty products of unknown origin are reminded and encouraged to sell products with clear origins.
The false information on social networks has had a significant impact on the image of Lo Lo Chai in particular and tourism in Tuyen Quang province in general. The authorities of Lung Cu and Dong Van communes have taken drastic action, conducted transparent inspections and implemented regular management solutions, contributing to clarifying public opinion, strengthening tourists' trust, and protecting the tourism image of the northernmost region of the country.
