- On April 28, the Department of Construction (Investor of the project to upgrade the section Km18 - Km80 of National Highway 4B) held a ceremony to open the technical traffic of 3 bridges and signed a commitment to compete to complete the project to upgrade the section Km18 - Km80 of National Highway 4B, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Hoang Van Nghiem, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Doan Thi Hau, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Luong Trong Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches and Loc Binh and Dinh Lap districts.
According to the approved project, the upgrade project of the Km18 - Km80 section of National Highway 4B is over 62 km long, with a total investment of nearly 2,300 billion VND. Along the route, in addition to the construction of the road surface, 14 new bridges will be built and expanded. Of which, in construction package No. 7, 3 new bridges will be built, including Hang Cau 2 Bridge, Ban Tau Bridge and Na Lan Bridge with a total length of 311.5 m, with a construction cost of over 113 billion VND (construction package No. 8 will build new bridges and expand 11 bridges on the route).
Among the 3 newly built bridges, Ban Tau bridge, at Km 25+463 (crossing Ky Cung river in Tu Doan commune), is 12 m wide and 210.5 m long, and is one of the longest bridges in the province today (equivalent in length to 17/10 bridge in Lang Son city).
After more than 1 year of construction, up to now, all 3 bridge projects have completed the entire main structure and ensured the conditions for technical traffic opening, contributing significantly to bringing the project into the final construction phase, moving to the next phase towards completing the entire project in September 2025.
It is known that by the end of April 2024, the total construction volume of the entire project reached 40.66% of the construction value according to the contract, disbursement reached 65.3% of the allocated capital plan. Particularly for the bridge expansion works on the route, the contractors have currently completed 70% of the design volume value.
To speed up the project's construction progress, at the ceremony, representatives of the investor and units participating in the project signed a commitment to focus on human resources, equipment, and production organization in the spirit of "overcoming the sun and rain", "eating quickly, sleeping urgently", working "3 shifts, 4 shifts", completing the project before September 30, 2025.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: To complete the project before September 30, the investor and contractors need to develop a detailed construction schedule, strengthen inspection and supervision, promptly handle contract violations (if any), and ensure quality and investment efficiency. At the same time, contractors speed up progress at key locations, arrange adequate human resources and equipment, and organize continuous construction in "3 shifts, 4 shifts"; ensure labor safety, environmental sanitation, and traffic safety along the entire route. The People's Committees of Loc Binh and Dinh Lap districts continue to coordinate with investors and contractors to completely resolve problems in site clearance and complete site clearance in June 2025.
