In the joyful atmosphere towards Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20, teachers and students of the school are even more proud when looking back together on the past journey - a journey of persistent cultivation, dedication and growth.

From thatched roof to national standard school

Gia Vien B High School was established in 1965, initially named Gia Vien B High School, located in Gia Thang commune (now Dai Hoang commune). In 1969, the school moved to Gia Lap commune (now Gia Van commune) - where it has been attached for the past six decades. In the early days, the school had only eight classes with more than 400 students, having to study in people's houses, simple classrooms built with bamboo, reeds and leaves, and earthen walls. It was in these difficult circumstances that the spirit of studiousness and the will to overcome difficulties were fostered, becoming the foundation for the school's precious traditions. In particular, during the fierce war years, the school was also a shelter for K8 students from Vinh Linh, Quang Tri evacuated to the North - a vivid testament to the spirit of humanity, solidarity and responsibility of Gia Vien B teachers and students.

After 60 years of construction and development, from the old thatched roof, Gia Vien B High School today is firmly on the journey of innovation. The school currently has 30 classes with nearly 1,300 students, along with a spacious and modern infrastructure system, meeting the requirements of education in the digital transformation period.

The team of 68 cadres, teachers and staff, including 18 masters and 37 provincial-level excellent teachers, are the ones who are lighting the fire of knowledge day and night. Many teachers are professional collaborators of the Ninh Binh Department of Education and Training, whose initiatives are recognized and widely applied throughout the industry.

The school's Party cell has 49 party members, which is the core leader of all activities; the Youth Union organization with 31 branches and more than 1,300 members is always the vanguard force in emulation movements in studying and training.

The quality of education is always a solid foundation, creating the reputation and brand of the school. For many years, Gia Vien B High School has maintained 100% of students passing high school graduation, more than 75% of students are admitted to university. Excellent student exams, sports, arts, national defense, STEM education... all bear the mark of the "flowers of knowledge" named Gia Vien B.

In 2013, the school became the first high school in Gia Vien district to meet national standards, and was recognized again in 2018 and 2025 - a testament to comprehensive educational quality and sustainable development.

Tradition is strength, faith is the future

Not only is it a place to sow the seeds of knowledge, Gia Vien B is also a school of kindness. Activities to encourage learning, encourage talents, donate blood voluntarily, support flood victims, and support poor but studious students are maintained regularly and spread strongly.

In the period 2015-2025 alone, the school had 161 cadres, teachers and staff participating in voluntary blood donation; many individuals and groups were awarded Certificates of Merit by the District People's Committee, the Red Cross Society and the Association for Promotion of Education. These noble acts have contributed to spreading the humanistic spirit, further enhancing the value of "happy school" that teachers and students of Gia Vien B High School are aiming for.

With continuous efforts, the school has reaped worthy achievements for its dedication journey when the school was honored many times to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the President, Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, Minister of Education and Training, and Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee. In the period 2015-2025, the school had 96 individuals achieving the title of "Basic Emulation Fighter", 15 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit at the Ministry and Provincial levels - worthy rewards for the dedication and creativity of the teaching staff.

Faced with the requirement of fundamental and comprehensive educational innovation in the spirit of the Resolutions of the Central Committee and the Politburo, Gia Vien B High School continues to affirm its position as one of the bright spots of the Ninh Binh education sector.

Promoting the achievements, entering a new development stage, the school continues to closely follow the general development orientation of the whole industry, focusing on successfully implementing the goal of fundamental and comprehensive educational innovation in the spirit of Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW dated November 4, 2013 of the Party Central Committee, Conclusion No. 91-KL/TW dated August 12, 2024 of the Politburo and breakthrough directions for education and training development in Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025 of the Politburo.

Along with that, in the context of Ninh Binh province being expanded after the merger, the education and training sector is facing new opportunities and challenges: both inheriting traditions and creating breakthroughs to meet the requirements of rapid, sustainable development and international integration. To continue to affirm its position as one of the bright spots of the province's education, Gia Vien B High School is determined to carry out well the following key tasks:

Firstly, continue to take the lead in effectively implementing the 2018 General Education Program. The focus is on innovating teaching and learning methods and innovating testing and assessment towards developing students' qualities and abilities.

Second, constantly focus on building and developing the team of teachers and educational administrators. Each teacher must truly be an example of ethics, self-study and creativity, constantly improving professional skills to master advanced educational methods and apply digital technology.

Third, attach importance to moral education, lifestyle, life skills and legal education; strengthen psychological counseling and career guidance, help students choose appropriate study and career paths, and develop responsible, compassionate, courageous and aspirational citizens.

Fourth , continue to promote digital transformation in management and teaching, build a safe, friendly and democratic educational environment. It is necessary to further promote the effectiveness of existing facilities, build a school culture with strong identity, and truly be a "Happy School".

Fifth, strengthen educational communication work and build close and effective cooperative relationships between schools - families - society; proactively connect with generations of alumni, businesses and local communities to mobilize resources, creating an open educational ecosystem.

Favorable geographical location, 60 years of history, guidance from leaders at all levels and the care and trust of the people are important factors, a solid foundation to help the school successfully complete its educational mission.

60 years – a journey marked by generations of dedicated teachers, well-behaved students, and generations of alumni who have grown up, contributed and dedicated themselves across the country. There are also those who have heroically sacrificed themselves, becoming martyrs, so that the traditional flag of Gia Vien B will always be bright red.

It can be affirmed that with 60 years of history, the attention of leaders at all levels and the love and trust of the people, Gia Vien B High School today continues to firmly step on a new journey - a journey of intelligence, humanity and aspiration to reach far, continuing to write golden pages in the career of educating people on the land of Ninh Binh, a land of talented people.
