Sharing with VietNamNet , Tu Quyet said that before knowing the score, he was very nervous and anxious. "When I knew the score, I was overwhelmed with joy," Quyet said.

From the time he took the exam until he knew his score today, Quyet had never looked up the answers himself.

“After the exam, my son said he had done all the questions, but he was still afraid that the pressure in the exam room might have caused him to fill in a wrong multiple choice question. I checked the answers and saw that he had done everything correctly. The day before he found out his score, he was so nervous that he couldn’t sleep. When the teacher asked him questions, he said he was nervous so he didn’t check his score,” said Trinh Thi Thu Ha, Quyet’s mother.

Ms. Ha said that since childhood, Quyet was a very good boy, diligent and self-motivated in studying. His parents never had to urge Quyet to study.

In primary and secondary school, Quyet did not attend many extra classes, but still achieved many excellent results.

"Quyet is very proactive, so my husband and I only register him for extra classes when he says it's necessary," said Ms. Ha, adding that today's results are largely due to her son's efforts to study on his own.

During all 3 years of high school, Quyet was an excellent student. In grade 12, Quyet's average score in Chemistry and Physics was 10; in Math, it was 9.9.

Nguyen Tu Quyet (class 12A9, Nguyen Gia Thieu High School) became the valedictorian of block A in 2025 with 3 perfect scores of 10.

Determined from the beginning and focused highly on the high school graduation exam. The male student only tried the Thinking Assessment exam of Hanoi University of Science and Technology and achieved 80.1 points - a high score and entered the top 60 candidates achieving a score of 80 or higher.

Ms. Ha said that she and her husband do not put pressure or set too high expectations for their child. “We just encourage our child to try his best. No matter the result, we are still happy that he really tried his best,” Ms. Ha said.

Ms. Ha said that in reality, Quyet does not have much time to study. However, every time he sits down to study, he is very focused. “Usually when it is quiet, he will concentrate on studying, no matter how late it is,” Ms. Ha said.

The male student is known by many friends and teachers for not using a phone or participating in social networks.

Ms. Nguyen Dieu Huyen, Quyet's homeroom teacher and English teacher in class, commented that he is a good student, intelligent, hard-working, modest, and has a good spirit of self-study and self-practice. "He is not only good at natural subjects but also good at social subjects such as English, Literature, etc. The proof is that for 3 years Quyet has been an excellent student, with high scores in the Thinking Assessment exam," Ms. Huyen said.

Ms. Mai Anh, Quyet's math teacher, said that he has a passion for math. "Since entering 10th grade, he has shown an aptitude for math. Quyet always researches, learns, and proactively asks teachers for help if he encounters difficulties. I still remember that even during the summer break, Quyet still diligently practiced, solved problems, and asked teachers to grade and correct his papers. In particular, although he is a good math student, he is very modest, always trains himself, and takes even easy problems very seriously," Ms. Mai Anh commented.

Physics teacher Nguyen Nguyet Hue also assessed that the male student possesses all the qualities of an outstanding student such as intelligence, diligence, courage and always striving for progress. “Throughout his studies, Quyet has always demonstrated sharp logical thinking, especially outstanding in subjects of group A, including Physics - a subject that not only requires a solid grasp of theoretical knowledge but also applies it to practical problems, close to life. Quyet is passionate about learning, researching, and solving difficult problems until he deeply and comprehensively understands the nature of physics and mathematical transformations. Because of this innate way of learning, he remembers knowledge for a long time and often achieves maximum scores,” said Ms. Hue.

In class, Quyet is always cheerful, sociable and often helps friends in their studies.

In addition to studying, the male student has a hobby of playing badminton. In grade 10, Quyet participated in the school badminton tournament and won second prize in the men's singles.

To relieve stress, Quyet also plays games but has a clear stopping point, especially when entering the school year.

With a score of 30 points in block A of the high school graduation exam, Quyet plans to enroll in the Computer Science major at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
