Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Bui Hoang Phuong works with the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province

Comrade Bui Hoang Phuong, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, spoke at the meeting.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, currently, in Quang Ninh province, there is one press agency, the Provincial Media Center, with all four types of press: Radio, television, electronic publications and printed publications, on the basis of merging the information and press agencies of the province, including: Quang Ninh Newspaper, Provincial Radio - Television Station, Electronic Information Portal under the Office of the Provincial People's Committee, Ha Long Newspaper under the Quang Ninh Provincial Literature and Arts Association. This is the first provincial-level media center model in the country established and operating under the Press Law and the National Press Planning to develop the information, propaganda and press career of the province; effectively implement the model of "Converged Editorial Office"; build an integrated and developed press system of Quang Ninh province.

Overview of the working session

The development and implementation of the Project to establish the Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center was carried out carefully, ensuring democracy, objectivity, and strictness from the grassroots level, closely following the development orientations of the Central Government, the orientations of the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, especially complying with the orientations, arrangement plans and implementation roadmap of press agencies for provinces/cities according to Decision No. 362/QD-TTg dated April 3, 2019 of the Prime Minister on approving the planning for development and management of the national press until 2025.

After more than 5 years of consolidation, the content and quality of propaganda have been innovated, synchronized, timely, professional and more effective. Information sources have become the common property of the Provincial Media Center, exploited, provided and distributed by departments through many different forms, different formats on many different media and infrastructures.

Up to now, the province has completed the arrangement of press agencies in accordance with the requirements of Decision No. 362/QD-TTg dated April 3, 2019 of the Prime Minister "Approving the National Press Development and Management Plan to 2025"; Plan No. 1378/KH-BTTTT dated June 4, 2019 of the Ministry of Information and Communications on the arrangement of press agencies in accordance with the National Press Development and Management Plan to 2025.

At the meeting, the two sides also discussed and clarified issues arising in the implementation of Decision No. 362/QD-TTg, especially difficulties and obstacles in the merger of press agencies; organizational structure, form of operation; improving the quality of management staff, reporters, editors; investment in facilities and equipment after the merger...

Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Bui Hoang Phuong acknowledged the achievements of Quang Ninh province during the implementation of Decision No. 362/QD-TTg.

The Deputy Minister directed units under the Ministry of Information and Communications to synthesize information and proposals from Quang Ninh province to report to the leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications and report to the Government as a basis for considering the implementation of a model of merging press agencies nationwide in the coming time./.
