On the afternoon of September 11, within the framework of a working trip to Dong Nai province, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO Nguyen Minh Vu visited and worked at the Department of Foreign Affairs of Dong Nai province.

Attending the meeting were Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang, along with leaders and staff of Dong Nai Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu emphasized that our country is entering a new era of development with the goal of becoming a developed country by 2045.

The Foreign Affairs sector, which has just celebrated its 80th anniversary, is expected by the Party and the State to play a pioneering role in maintaining a peaceful environment, enhancing the country's position and promoting international cooperation. In this work, local foreign affairs departments are an extension, realizing foreign policies into concrete and practical results.

Appreciating Dong Nai's initiative and creativity in expanding international cooperation, attracting investment and promoting the local image, the Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that with its position as a land connecting the South, the South Central Coast and the Southern Central Highlands, playing an important role in the key economic development region of the South, Dong Nai has many advantages to make a strong breakthrough.

Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu requested the Department of Foreign Affairs to continue perfecting the strategic foreign affairs vision associated with the province's long-term development goals; maximizing the advantages of transport infrastructure, Long Thanh airport and industrial ecosystem to promote economic diplomacy.

In addition, the Deputy Minister called on Dong Nai to strengthen connections with 98 Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to expand the cooperation network, attract high-quality investment, green technology, digital transformation; integrate cultural diplomacy and people's diplomacy into international events, introduce the values ​​and unique cultural identity of Dong Nai to the world; improve forecasting capacity, strategic advice as well as citizen protection work.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for always paying attention and accompanying Dong Nai in many important issues from investment cooperation, trade promotion to border management and citizen protection. The Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the provincial leaders will continue to create conditions for the Department of Foreign Affairs to promote its role as a bridge, bringing local foreign affairs work more and more in-depth, effectively serving the socio-economic development of the province.

Representative of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Director Huynh Thi Be Nam expressed her honor and joy to welcome Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu and the working delegation to visit, considering this a great encouragement for the Department.

The Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs said: With the attention and close direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, Dong Nai's foreign affairs activities have increasingly gone into depth, achieved practical results, contributing to expanding international cooperation relations and promoting the province's socio-economic development.

Despite many difficulties after the merger, the Department is making efforts to stabilize the organization, improve the staff, and build a coordination process with other departments and branches so that foreign affairs can truly become a driving force for development. The Department will focus on advising on long-term foreign affairs strategies, promoting cooperation with neighboring localities, economic diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, people's diplomacy, and promoting Dong Nai's image internationally.

At the same time, the Department commits to seriously implementing the Ministry's instructions, enhancing research and forecasting capacity, proactively proposing cooperation initiatives with representative agencies abroad to make the most of international resources for the province's sustainable development.
