Prime Minister chairs regular meeting in May

On the morning of June 3, Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member and Prime Minister chaired the regular Government meeting for May 2023 online with localities.

Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee attended the meeting at Thai Binh bridge.

Attending the meeting were the Deputy Prime Minister and leaders of central ministries, departments and branches. At the Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee bridge, there were Mr. Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of relevant departments and branches.

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing 6 contents: socio-economic situation in May and the first 5 months of 2023; implementation of the socio-economic recovery and development program; allocation and disbursement of public investment capital; implementation of national target programs; results of planning work according to the provisions of the Law on Planning; working results of Government members who chaired and urged and worked with localities on the situation of production, business, public investment, infrastructure construction, import and export and recommendations and proposals according to Decision No. 435/QD-TTg dated April 24, 2023 of the Prime Minister.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the reports and 17 opinions of local leaders and members of the Government and commended the provinces and cities for seriously grasping the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the resolutions, conclusions and directions of the Central Committee, the Politburo and the National Assembly, closely following the situation to direct and operate resolutely and synchronously.

The Prime Minister said that the Government has well implemented 9 groups of tasks and solutions to help the socio-economy continue to develop stably in the first 5 months of the year, creating a foundation for development in the last months of the year and the coming years.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the lesson of maintaining, consolidating and strengthening solidarity and unity, striving to overcome difficulties; maintaining a steadfast spirit in all situations; strengthening discipline and administrative order; and responding to policies promptly, appropriately and effectively.

The Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to continue to implement the goals of stabilizing the macro economy, controlling inflation, promoting growth, ensuring major balances, maintaining security, national defense, independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, preventing and combating corruption and negativity, strengthening foreign affairs and international integration. Leaders of ministries, branches and localities resolutely direct the focus on promoting the three growth drivers including investment, consumption and export. Regarding investment, promote faster and more effective disbursement of public investment and promote private investment and FDI investment by measures to improve the business environment, accelerate digital transformation, and minimize administrative procedures. Regarding export, strengthen trade promotion, maintain and consolidate existing markets with 15 signed FTAs, expand new markets in the Middle East, India, South America, complete the signing of FTAs with Israel and negotiate other FTAs, etc.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also requested ministries, branches and localities to synchronously deploy solutions to effectively perform a number of tasks: planning, disbursement of public investment capital, national target programs, site clearance, administrative procedure reform, removing difficulties for production and business of people and enterprises, social security, credit policy, import and export, market and the fields of security, defense, culture, society, etc.

The Prime Minister requested that each individual and each collective uphold their sense of responsibility and public ethics and take drastic actions to remove and handle difficulties and obstacles effectively and substantially, contributing to the country's continued development, striving to make each quarter better than the previous quarter and each year better than the previous year.
