At the press conference, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki informed that today at a press conference in Tokyo, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi Yoshimasa announced that Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru will pay an official visit to Vietnam, scheduled from April 27 to 29.
According to Mr. Ito Naoki, this visit is an opportunity for Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru to strengthen the relationship of trust with Vietnamese leaders, while enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas such as national defense and security and economy , as well as responding to regional and international challenges.
The Ambassador emphasized that in the context of Southeast Asia being the world's dynamic growth center, strengthening relations with Vietnam - a country with a population of over 100 million people and a dynamic economy - is a priority in Japan's diplomatic strategy.
Through this visit, Japan hopes to further promote high-level diplomatic activities towards realizing the goal of a “free and open Indo-Pacific” based on the spirit of the rule of law.
“Vietnam is now entering an era of national growth. Japan believes that this new era for Vietnam will be a great opportunity to further expand the cooperative relationship between the two countries within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the world,” Mr. Ito Naoki stated.
The Ambassador also added that through Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru's visit, Japan will prepare to strengthen cooperation, demonstrating its commitment to its role as Vietnam's leading partner in the new era.
According to Mr. Ito, the three main pillars in the cooperative relationship between the two countries continue to be promoted, including economic cooperation, security and people-to-people exchange.
In the economic field, Japan pledges to support Vietnam in realizing its goal of becoming a developed country by 2045 through promoting digital transformation, green transformation, innovation, and science and technology.
In particular, the two countries are implementing 15 renewable energy projects with a total investment of up to 20 billion USD within the framework of the Asian Zero Emission Community (AZEC) Initiative.
