"I would like to thank the fans. It's been a long time since we've had this kind of support. The Vietnamese women's team tried hard in the second half, but still lost to U23 Australia.
"This semi-final match was not good, the next match must be better. Thailand is an opponent we know well, so the Vietnamese women's team needs to play tightly and enter the game well to be able to win," coach Mai Duc Chung said after losing 1-2 to U23 Australia in the semi-finals of the 2025 Southeast Asian tournament.

Midfielder Bich Thuy regrets that the Vietnamese women's team could not make it to the final: "Right now we are very sad because we could not play a match as expected. The coach reminded us a lot but the team did not start well. Personally, I will regain my spirit for the final match to win the bronze medal."
On the other side of the front line, U23 Australia coach Joseph Palatsides said: "The match was great. In the first half, we controlled the game well and created opportunities. The Vietnamese women's team had the support of a lot of fans and had a good defense, making many saves. This was a very difficult match. During the break, I told the players that Vietnam would play better, the team needed to play positively."
