The latest match of round 15 of V-League 2023-2024 took place at Lach Tray Stadium between Hai Phong and Thanh Hoa and ended with a 2-0 victory for the home team. The victory helped the home team temporarily escape the bottom of the table, while Thanh Hoa went through 5 consecutive matches from draw to loss and gradually moved further away from the top 3.

In a must-win situation to escape the pressure of the bottom group, Hai Phong entered the game with enthusiasm and spirit when they launched early attacks on the away team's field. By the 15th minute, the home team had scored an early opening goal from the 11m penalty spot. Thanh Hoa defender let the ball touch his hand in the 16m50 box, after consulting VAR, the referee determined that Hai Phong would receive a penalty. Lucao's shot did not beat goalkeeper Xuan Hoang, but Huu Son's follow-up shot brought a goal for Hai Phong.

The match became more exciting after the home team's early goal when Thanh Hoa pushed up their attack. But the solidity of the defense as well as goalkeeper Dinh Trieu had an outstanding match to keep Hai Phong's goal steady after 45 minutes of the first half.

The “tit for tat” game continued to be exciting in the remaining half. Hai Phong’s defense blocked Thanh Hoa’s strikers, especially Rimario – the former striker of the Hai Phong team – who seemed to have… disappeared in this match.

In the 81st minute, from a failed clearance by a Thanh Hoa defender, striker Bicou did not miss the opportunity to score a goal to double the gap to 2-0, putting an end to the efforts of the away team. With a series of 5 matches from draw to loss, Thanh Hoa seems to be moving further away from the goal of being in the top medal contenders this season.
