The increasingly important role of the private economic sector in promoting economic growth, creating jobs and improving national competitiveness cannot be denied. In particular, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are considered the living cells of the economy, penetrating every corner of the market, bringing flexibility, creativity and the ability to adapt quickly. These enterprises are the key force in applying new technology, creating unique products and services, meeting the diverse and increasingly demanding needs of consumers.

However, the development picture of private enterprises in the field of science, technology and innovation is still gloomy in Lam Dong. Statistics show that most SMEs, not only in Lam Dong but also in the whole country, are still struggling with the problem of lack of investment capital, limited high-quality human resources and difficulties in accessing support policies. This creates a significant gap compared to larger enterprises, which have more financial potential and resources to "pour money" into research and development.

In addition, a noteworthy issue is that the management of many SMEs is still slow to innovate and has not kept up with international standards. This not only limits the ability to participate in the global supply chain but also causes businesses to miss out on the "sweet fruits" from the free trade agreements that Vietnam has signed.

• BUSINESS SUPPORT

In that general context, Lam Dong in recent years has also shown its initiative and determination in supporting the business community, especially SMEs in starting up and applying science and technology. With more than 14,300 enterprises and hundreds of cooperatives operating in the fields of agriculture, services, industry and construction , the province clearly identifies the "backbone" role of the private economic sector in the local economic development.

Therefore, in recent times, the province has implemented many practical support programs, from financial support, human resource training to management consulting, to improve the competitiveness of businesses. In particular, the province has focused on encouraging the spirit of entrepreneurship, creating a favorable environment for new business ideas to germinate and develop.

A clear demonstration of this effort is the implementation of a series of activities to support technological innovation, improve product quality, focusing on the province's key agricultural products. The industrial promotion program for the period 2022 - 2024 with 44 projects to support the development of industrial and handicraft products for tourism, with a total budget of over 13.7 billion VND, is a bright spot showing the province's investment and deep concern for business development.

However, to realize the impressive growth target of 9-10% and maximize the role of the private economy, the province is currently outlining strategic and synchronous solutions: continuing to cut administrative procedures, simplifying licensing processes and creating more favorable conditions for businesses to access resources. The province also focuses on investing in transport infrastructure, industrial parks and logistics centers to reduce production costs and enhance business competitiveness. In particular, encouraging innovation through creating conditions for private enterprises to access new technologies, promoting research and application of science and technology in production and business is also being and continues to be implemented in many forms, hoping to create breakthroughs in the coming time.

Promoting private enterprises to invest in scientific and technological research and innovation is not only an urgent task but also a key "key" to open the door to sustainable development of Lam Dong in particular and Vietnam in general. With the right policies and drastic actions, we believe that Lam Dong will have more and more private enterprises growing strongly, contributing to the sustainable development of the country.
