Promoting cooperation between Lai Chau province and Udomxay province (Laos)

At the meeting, Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee Le Van Luong was very pleased to welcome the delegation of Udomxay province to visit and work in Lai Chau province. In recent times, the Vietnam - Laos relationship has continued to develop positively, closely and trustfully in many fields; high-level agreements between the two Parties and the two States have been effectively implemented, contributing to maintaining the exemplary, loyal and pure relationship between the two brotherly countries. For Lai Chau province and Udomxay province, in recent years, the friendship and cooperation between the two sides have been continuously maintained, consolidated, enhanced and developed.

In the coming time, Lai Chau province hopes to work with U Dom Xay province to increase friendly exchange activities, exchange information, share experiences in arranging and streamlining the apparatus; strengthen economic cooperation; promote cultural cooperation, coordinate the organization of people-to-people exchange activities, cultural exchanges to contribute to promoting the unique cultural features of each side; promote tourism development, encourage and create conditions for businesses of both sides to cooperate in forming tourism tours from Lai Chau province to U Dom Xay province and vice versa; continue to coordinate to improve the quality of human resource training in accordance with the actual conditions of each province.

Comrade Vong Sa Van Xay Nha Vong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Udom Xay Provincial Government Committee, thanked the leaders of Lai Chau province for their warm welcome to the delegation. He congratulated Lai Chau province on its achievements in the 2020-2025 term. The two provinces have similarities in culture, foreign affairs, ethnicity... which are conditions and opportunities for the two sides to have exchanges and cooperation in the coming time.

Lai Chau's experience in administrative reform, decentralization, streamlining the apparatus and applying technology in management are valuable lessons for U Dom Xay to study and apply appropriately to actual conditions. At the same time, we believe that the talks will not only contribute to strengthening the cooperative relationship between the two localities, but also continue to affirm the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, and between the people of Lai Chau and U Dom Xay provinces.

The two sides discussed and exchanged specific tasks and powers of the Provincial Party Secretary and the Chairman of the Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee; coordination in leadership and direction of work of the Provincial Party Secretary and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; advantages and difficulties in coordination, consulting and assisting of office agencies; experience in decentralizing management between the province and communes to ensure work is carried out smoothly, quickly, with quality and efficiency, and promptly resolving issues right at the grassroots level...

In addition, the two sides also exchanged many contents, orientations and approaches of the two provinces on the two-level local government model of Lai Chau, the successful organization of the 15th Provincial Party Congress, administrative reform; on strategies, 4 pillars in socio-economic development of U Dom Xay province...
