The event is an important highlight in a series of activities to promote bilateral cooperation in education and human resource development between the two countries.
In his welcome speech at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Association, emphasized: Despite the geographical distance, Vietnam and Germany have always maintained a close relationship through many generations of Vietnamese people studying, researching and working in Germany. These cooperations not only bring socio -economic benefits but also contribute to enhancing understanding and tightening friendship between the people of the two countries. We hope that the workshop will provide many practical ideas and proposals, contributing to promoting the Vietnam-Germany cooperation relationship to become increasingly deeper, more effective and sustainable.
Germany is Vietnam’s leading important partner in Europe, with comprehensive cooperation in many fields, especially education, vocational training and skilled labor development. In the context of the German economy needing a large amount of human resources from abroad to maintain growth and meet the needs of industrial development, Vietnam is considered a reliable partner in providing quality human resources.

Over the past decade, thousands of Vietnamese students and workers have been studying and working in Germany through vocational training programs, degree conversion and high-skilled labor, making positive contributions to the socio-economic development of both countries. This is also an opportunity for young Vietnamese workers to access advanced science and technology and modern working styles, thereby returning to contribute to their homeland.
This event not only provided information on opportunities for studying abroad, vocational training and employment in Germany, but also marked the launch of the Vietnam-Germany Education and Employment Association (VGECA), an initiative to bring studying abroad and employment activities in Germany into a more transparent, professional and effective framework, meeting the expectations of both sides.
Also within the framework of the workshop, in addition to expressing joy that the German labor market is opening up many new opportunities for young Vietnamese people, delegates shared about the opportunities and bottlenecks of German international students and support programs of relevant German agencies and organizations.

Head of the Vietnam-Germany Education and Employment Association Nguyen Tuan Nam.
Referring to the opportunities and bottlenecks in Vietnam-Germany human resources cooperation, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Nam, Head of the Vietnam-Germany Education and Employment Association, emphasized: The language barrier is still one of the major obstacles for Vietnamese students studying in Germany, stemming from the lack of orientation in learning German from the beginning. The B1 German certificate is just the first step in the process of integration and effective work; learners need to continue to improve their language thinking and communication skills.
With that orientation, the Vietnam-Germany Education and Employment Association focuses on strengthening cooperation with educational institutions and businesses in Germany to continuously improve training quality, support the formation of clear career orientation, and at the same time become a reliable bridge between Vietnamese students and German partners.
In addition to student education, issues related to teacher training and support for labor migration were also discussed at the workshop. Ms. Sabine Wilmes, Deputy Director of the Goethe-Institut Hanoi, said that through the "early integration" program, the Institute organizes cultural orientation courses, soft skills training, job interview training and personalized counseling for those who want to study, work or participate in vocational training in Germany, to help them better understand the living and working environment, thereby minimizing risks during the migration process.
In parallel, the Goethe Institute has implemented a system of training and fostering German teachers, including basic teaching methods courses, the international certificate program “Deutsch Lehren Lernen-DLL” and online specialized modules. These activities contribute to standardizing teaching quality according to German standards, improving the capacity of German teachers in Vietnam, and effectively supporting the integration process of Vietnamese people in Germany.

In addition to the wide-open opportunities, the German market also places increasingly high demands on the quality of international human resources. Vietnamese learners and workers need to have good German language proficiency, cultural adaptability, working skills in a modern industrial environment, and a proactive spirit of community integration. Thorough preparation in terms of language, skills and professional attitude is considered a key factor to ensure sustainable integration and long-term success in Germany.
However, in recent years, there has been a lot of inaccurate or misleading information about studying and working in Germany in Vietnam. Many students and parents do not understand the true nature of vocational study abroad programs, leading to a lack of preparation in German, life skills and career orientation, or unrealistic expectations.
In addition, some organizations and individuals have taken advantage of Germany’s open-door policy and the lack of information from parents to make profits, even committing fraud. This has affected the rights of students, the reputation of cooperation between the two countries, as well as the image of Vietnamese students and workers in Germany.
This reality shows the urgent need for an effective coordination mechanism, increased supervision and establishment of a common voice for legitimate units operating in the field of studying abroad and working in Germany, to ensure transparency, professionalism and towards sustainable development of the market.
The workshop is an opportunity for ministries, branches, organizations, businesses and associations of the two countries to summarize the outstanding results in the past time; at the same time, share the vision and cooperation plan in the coming time. Here, the parties have the opportunity to connect and support each other to improve the quality of services, helping students, workers and businesses to meet, understand each other and cooperate more effectively in the future.
