
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son suggested that the two sides continue to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level delegations, as well as between ministries, branches and localities of the two countries; and suggested that the two countries further promote trade and investment cooperation. On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Polish House of Representatives for passing the Bill on ratification of the Vietnam - EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).
*On the afternoon of October 24, at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son received Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Khaleel on the occasion of the Minister's attendance at the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime in Hanoi.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son welcomed Minister Abdulla Khaleel for representing the Government to attend the signing ceremony of the Convention; and thanked Maldives for its support and close cooperation with Vietnam in hosting this important event.
The two sides agreed to soon establish a dialogue mechanism between the two foreign ministries and promote the signing of cooperation documents in various fields. Minister Abdulla Khaleel expressed his wish to send Maldivian business delegations to Vietnam to learn from experience in aquaculture and seafood processing, and is ready to share experience with Vietnam in tuna exploitation and processing, and tourism development.
*On the afternoon of October 24, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha chaired a meeting to listen to a report on the draft Decree on farm economy. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the farm model is developing strongly, demonstrating a more advanced production method than that of households. The Deputy Prime Minister requested that the Decree should demonstrate new thinking and theory to define, classify, and clearly identify farm models, thereby issuing appropriate policies to encourage new, modern farm models; it should be placed in a unified relationship with current decrees and laws in the fields of cultivation, animal husbandry, aquaculture, land, etc. to avoid overlap or exceeding authority.
